We're behind on posting but a few weekends ago we headed down to Sedalia for our last show of the season at the Mo State Convention. We didn't have any big wins but some good comments and we are excited about this round of breeding! We also got to spend some much needed time with our rabbit family and friends which is always a blessing.

This weekend we attended one of our favorite shows down in Sedalia, The Midwest Quad Show. It was a long but a very good weekend. The best part of the weekend was GC Bearcat's Zombie being awarded with Best Opposite of Breed in the Show Me Mini Rex Specialty! The rest of our team are young so they weren't in condition to compete with the stiff competitors that were there but we are happy with the comments that we got! Here are the results.

We are behind on posting, but back in August we attended the Missouri State Fair with a new face to the show team! Ryan decided he wanted to show for FFA. He even was awarded with being a first time exhibitor! He had a great time even though big sis had a hard time sitting back and just watching. His show team was small and filled with young juniors so this was just for fun. He was sure surprised and very happy when his favorite broken, Bearcat's Risky Business, was picked for Best Opposite of Breed!!

Ryan wasn't in the barn much due to him also helping out our friends show their shorthorn cattle but he had a blast with both and he can't wait till next year!

We would like to congratulate Harper on her wins at the 2024 Doniphan County Fair. Bearcat's Baby Spice was BOB and went on to secure Grand Champion Overall Doe as well as Grand Champion Fur. Bearcat's Zulily also showed well with a blue ribbon for senior doe and a purple ribbon for fur. Harper also went on to win Reserve Champion Overall Showmanship (as a junior) and Grand Champion with her demonstration on how to show a rabbit. We love hearing about our customers successes! Yesterday we headed over to Gardner Kansas for a single show with some new faces in the show team to see how they do before state fair. We got some good comments on all of them and hoping they finish their coats just in time for state fair in a few weeks! The best part was Bearcat’s Zombie picked up another Best Opposite of Breed! Some other big wins were the following:

Bearcat’s Strawberry- 1st Sr. Otter Buck, Best of Variety, and Best of Tan Group
Bearcat’s Posh Spice- 1st Jr. Otter Doe, Best Opposite of Variety, and Best Opposite of Tan Group

We would also like to give a shout out to Buell Rabbitry for his Best of Breed and Reserve in Show win with a beautiful broken doe!

We also had an exciting night as Dakota conquered her fear of tattooing the rabbits. The whites might have some green fur but they don’t look half bad for her first time!

We’re a little late at posting due to life being quite busy this summer but back in June Ryan attended the Clinton County Rabbit show and brought home some hardware!! All his rabbits got great comments but the best of all was Bearcat’s Posh Spice winning Grand Champion Rabbit!! We’re excited to see how the team does at state fair as Ryan shows as a first year exhibitor!

This weekend, we traveled to Carthage for the first time, for the Southwest MO Hare Raisers show, and it was a fantastic experience! We brought a mostly young team, who received very promising feedback. The highlight of the event was Bearcat's Strawberry being awarded Best of Breed in Show B under Janie Elliott! We also want to give a shout out to our travel partners over at 4Js, which received Best Opposite of Breed in show B as well!! Dakota was busy helping write of another judge and Shelby was busy so the moms got to run the rabbits in Show B and of course the moms had to get their picture together to commemorate the wins!
