Found Dog

Does anyone recognize this guy?

Seems to be an older corgi, he was found just off of Second Ave SE here in town. He was found by a couple of our techs. Did knock on a couple of doors but no one was home. He was brought to the clinic and checked for a microchip, which none was found. No collar with tags either.

Please let us know if you know he belongs to or if he belongs to you!

We love seeing this sunny, warm weather! ☀

But we have had reports from pet owners that TICKS have been finding their way onto their pets already! Although we recommend having your pet on preventative monthly, we do understand we have clients that prefer treating their pets seasonally.

For those that do treat seasonally, we recommend starting now! 🐾

We have newer products called Nexcard Plus (dogs) and Nexgard Combo (cats) that is an all-in-one chew that prevents fleas, ticks, heartworm and intestinal parasites.

We would love to honor those who served. If you or someone you know, has served our country, send us a photo and we will print it out and hang them up in our clinic for everyone to see. If you send us a photo, you or the veteran you know, will be entered into a drawing for a gift basket! ✨

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week!!!

It’s that time of year again to post my annual thank you to my staff. The technicians are the reason the veterinary clinic is able to provide all of its services. They do all of the work that is “behind the scenes”.

They are the ones that monitor anesthesia, perform full body x-rays and dental x-rays, perform dental cleanings, places IV catheters, administers medications to hospitalized patients, performs lab tests, and also provides care during appointments.

I am grateful for my technicians, and I appreciate all of their hard work and dedication to make Barnesville Animal Clinic what it is today!

Does your pet need a pedicure? Not only is it better for your home when your pets have short nails but it’s also beneficial to their health. Here are some important reasons to get your pets seen for regular nail trims:

• Nails that are too long can lead to splayed foot, reduced traction, deformed feet, and even injured tendons over time.

• As long nails hit the ground, it puts force on the foot and leg structure. This force can potentially lead to arthritis and ongoing pain.

• Help prevent painful broken claws

Did you know adult dogs have 42 teeth – 10 more than humans! 🦷

We like to keep those teeth as healthy as possible. We recommend products that are VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) approved. Here is a list of those products below:
