Woke to a surprise this morning. I uncertain exactly why Francine kidded so early, but the good news is all kids are doing well. Francine kidded 3 days early with quad bucklings. Sired by Denbow Acres Farm Caden. 1 currently unavailable but all others will be offered as wethers.
R4 really worked me today, but finally feel like we've cleared the hardest part. Been a long tiring day.

Finley has gotten her yearly booster of CD&T, and a copper bolus. She was also the first to receive Inforce 3 vaccine, a recommendation by my vet. She is now ready to deliver the first kids of 2023 beginning of March. 👏

This girl is supposed to be socializing at the company Christmas party,but her introverted farmer self just doesn't know how. So, last doe confirmed bred. All 2023 kids due in March! 🥳

4 of the 5 does to kid in 2023 have missed two consecutive heats. I have updated the site to reflect this.

Also, after some extensive beta testing with my sister I have temporarily figured out a better way to advertise on my For Sale page. Kidding 2023 will see more changes there.

Finley had a heat this week so the farm's first breeding of 2022 occured. Just tapping my feet waiting for the rest of the ladies.

I am in the process of updating my site. I am nearly done. Photos will still be missing as they are a two man job but I will be trying hard to get them.

Happy baby shower to my cousin. It was stunning. The outside world is eager to meet you Harlow, sweetling. Continued congratulations to her parents Nick and Sahara Clark.

All 2022 kids have moved to their new homes. I still have Finley who needs a new location. I have also updated the site. I do still need photos for several animals but that day will come. I promise 🙂

       My mother insisted I keep this little girl. I was not going to keep but a pair of my 2019 kids. I broke that with Brida; it only made sense to do it again and keep this stunner. I really like Finley's half sister so I am excited to see what Finley will bring to Burnt Edges.

Last night was a very busy one. Within hours of each other 3 does kidded. 1 two days late, 1 one day early, and the last 2 days early. These ladies kept me hopping as they delivered 10 babies.

Karigan: P14 & P15 (Buck/doe twins) sired by Dragonfly DOM Jory. This is a linebreeding on Dragonfly SOL Capriccio. Doeling retained.

Finley: P16 thru P19 (2 buck & 2 does) Sire(s) unknown. To be sold as pets only

Francine: P20 thru P23 (1 Buck & 3 does) Sired by Dragonfly DOM Jory.

I do have one doeling reservation. Will not know who is not available for does until Monday-ish.

Now just Tallis and she looks like she may want to kid a day early herself. 😐

Another early morning arrival. Floki kidded with twins. Doe and buck. Sired by Denbow Acres Farm Caden. Buckling available as a wether (I am nearly certain he is polled), but doe is in limbo as I try to cut back my numbers I really need to look at who is going and who stays. Caden's arthritis barely let him cover this single doe twice over two days. I believe last fall was his last breeding season. It is hard to decide what exactly to do with his last doe kid.

Massive thank you to my mother Marla for rushing Shine to Maine after a long day at work and to Cheryl Denbow for pulling these three in the middle of your own busy life. I cannot find enough words to express my appreciation to you both.

Yesterday was one for the book. Both Charlotte and Shine kidded. Long story short everyone is fine and doing well. I only have photos of Charlotte's twins (buck/doe). Both available. Will get photos of Shine's tonight. Both sets of kids sired by Dragonfly DOM Jory.

From 2 to 6 just like that. 3 boys and a girl for Crezia early this morning. I missed all but not by much. Girl retained for now. These four little nugs mark a big point in the farm's history. Happy Saturday! I have pondered and pondered how to approach this but I am thinking I just have to rip the bandaid off. Due to rising costs in EVERYTHING I am having to increase my purchase prices. Well it was inevitable. For the first time the farm had a break-in and entering. An unscheduled, and highly undesired meeting of the genders. All my hard planning to waste 😭 If Finley settles and without a perfect 2nd udder she will be available in milk and kids sold as pets. Only kind of joking. Tallis, sweet Tallis, you were the greatest betrayal. You I am unsure what to do with. Part of me says sell all the kids as pets, but I really wanted a doe kid of her's by Fire so DNA test? Will that even be working next year via ADGA? Or Lute her? Oh! I just don't know! It's always fun on the farm....😑
