As outlined in yesterday’s post, the Humane Society has responded to my inquiry. Here is the update verbatim.
“In consultation with our vets, we immediately started treating him for his obvious medical needs, and he's scheduled for further diagnostics. He has some major growths that need to be assessed and removed, a noticeable on-going skin problem, and he needs a comprehensive dental. Once we can be sure of all his medical needs, we will determine what we can care for now, and what an adopter would need to be able to manage for the rest of his life. Only then will we start talking to potential adopters. We have Adopter Information forms on file already, from folks who love the oldies, and we are directing people who have seen the posts to fill out forms and send them in for consideration. “
For anyone that has been lucky enough to have seniors know that the aging process affects each dog differently. They get lumps and bumps, allergies, motor issues, dental disease, etc. he is an “old man” and his issues will be dealt with methodically. As stated by the humane society above, if this old man touches your heart like he touches mine, get your application in to them.
🚨 Adoption fee will be paid in full by a generous sponsor 🚨 Handed over to Central VT Humane Society, please spread the word. Please - let's get him out of there and into a home for his golden years ❤️ please contact Almost Home for sponsorship information after you have been approved for adoption by the humane society
