5 things you didn't know about pigs❤️ :1. Pigs are the fourth most intelligent mammal in the world! 😱 They are smarter than dogs and even some monkeys, and their level of intelligence is on par with that of a 4-year-old! 2. Contrary to popular belief, pigs are among the cleanest animals! They will never make needs where they sleep and eat, and will choose a remote place to keep their living environment clean. 3. Mother pigs serve to their babies while they breastfeed ❤️4. Pigs love belly scratches. They love it so much, they'll stop almost any action to get the financial scratches (and turn over happily) 😍5. Pigs have a sense of smell 2,000 times stronger than humans! That's why they use their nose for everything and it's the cutest thing ever ❤️ In the pig industry, they are forced to base on their own needs 😢 When the puppies are born, they go through a tail orphanage. They'll never get to see sunshine, dig in the ground, play or run. I will never know what I did to deserve such an awful life full of abuse and neglect.

My life had become so sad and lonely it was like living in an endless, dark tunnel.

I remember looking up one day and seeing a bright light shining at the end of the tunnel.

the light was so bright I thought that God must have sent an angel to finally end my suffering.

God did send an angel, he sent you.

The bright light I had seen was your smiling face.

You promised me that my days of neglect and abuse were over.
My battered body and broken spirit hardly dared to believe it was true.

You opened your heart and your home and gave me more love and comfort and safety than I had ever known before.

You gave me the softest bed my tired, aching bones had ever felt and more toys and attention than I had ever dreamed existed.

I no longer cringed when a hand was raised near me, because your hands had only kindness and treats to offer me.

I no longer feared the sound of feet approaching, because your feet had never kicked me, they had only taken me on wonderful adventures to exciting new places.

You made my spirits soar and helped my soul find peace and contentment.

From the day I met you, I never suffered again.

GORDON UPDATE: We have finally heard back from the surgeon. While Gordon's lung mass is most likely cancerous (which we had already assumed), it is solitary and operable! The surgeon is confident he can remove all of it!

This surgery has a record of positive outcomes. There is a lot of hope for Gordon's future. He is currently being kept comfortable with top-quality pain meds, but as soon as they start to wear off, Gordon's discomfort becomes very apparent. Without surgery, the large mass in Gordon's lung will only continue to grow. It will leave him in constant pain. Eventually, it will hinder his ability to breathe altogether. With this surgery, the mass will be completely removed, and Gordon should once again be able to enjoy his golden years alongside his brother, Tommy.

It almost goes without saying that we have approved the surgery. Gordon is on the surgeon's schedule for early next week, but he needs your help! Doing whatever it takes to bring comfort and happiness to senior pets sometimes means expensive specialty surgeries, just like the one Gordon needs.

Gordon is on the books for the procedure this upcoming Monday, November the 20th. There is a possibility he could get bumped for emergencies, but if all goes well, he will go under on Monday and be hospitalized until Wednesday. Once released from his stay at the hospital, Gordon will go home with Jen, our Medical Director, for post-surgical monitoring. The surgery plus the hospitalization is going to end up costing $10,0000. Every penny is worth it when it means saving Gordon's life.
