The Washington County SPCA shelter is an independent non-profit (501c3) organization that takes in ALL local cats and dogs, regardless of health, breed, age, etc. and exists solely on the donations of our generous and caring supporters. We are not affiliated with nor receive funding from Washington County or national organizations. We are the community's ONLY open access shelter, and we offer low-

cost spay/neuter vouchers, and collaborate with other animal assistance groups to actively promote suitable animal adoptions and transports.

๐Ÿพ We are in urgent need of a foster home for a nursing mom. She and her puppies will need a safe, stable, and quiet environment for approximately 8 weeks where they can receive careful attention and care.

๐Ÿพ Lilia is a super sweet dog who loves having her belly rubbed while resting her head on you. The health and well being of Lilia and her puppies depend on finding a responsible and compassionate foster as soon as possible. We will provide all necessary supplies, including food, bedding, and veterinary care.

๐ŸšจThis is a critical situation, and we need someone who can commit to this vulnerable dog and her puppies. If you can help, please contact us immediately by commenting, sending us a message, or you can reach out via phone or stop by in person once we open at 1pm.

๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒŸ Calling all animal lovers! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿพ

We need your help to make a difference in the lives of our community cats! ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ’•

Here at Washington County SPCA, we're dedicated to improving the lives of stray and feral cats through a Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) program. TNVR is a humane and effective method of managing feral cat populations by sterilizing them, vaccinating against diseases, and returning them to their outdoor homes.

But we can't do it alone! We need your support to continue this important work. Every donation, big or small, helps us provide spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and ongoing care for these deserving animals.

Your contribution can make a world of difference for these cats, preventing suffering and reducing overpopulation. Together, we can create a brighter future for them and our community. ๐ŸŒŸ

Please consider donating today and sharing this post with your friends and family. Together, we can make a paw-sitive impact! ๐Ÿพ

A huge thank you to the incredible students at Caney Valley Elementary School! โค๏ธ

Their recent coin drive was a huge success, and this amazing 4th-grade class raised the most! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ฐ Thanks to their generosity, the school came together to raise an incredible $1,759.80 to support the animals at Washington County SPCA! ๐Ÿพ

And we canโ€™t forget to give a shoutout to their adorable school dog, Lady May! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿถ

Your kindness makes a differenceโ€”thank you, Caney Valley Elementary! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’•

How would you like to make a difference in a shelter dog's life, if even for a day? Consider participating in our Dog's Day Out program. This volunteer program allows you to check a dog out of the shelter for the day (or even over the weekend) and have some fun! Find more information on our Dog's Day Out andventure opportunities here: https://www.wcspca.org/doggie-day-out

Exposing our shelter dogs to the public not only increases their chance at adoption, but it relieves them from the stress of the shelter environement. It is not only beneficial for them! "Excersise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy!" - Elle Woods

Billy has been adopted! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

We are always thrilled when an animal gets adopted and we send them off to a happily ever after. We can only hope that the animal is treated with care and given unconditional love. Regrettably, this doesn't always happen. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿก

Billy's situation was the opposite of our hopes and dreams. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿพ He was adopted shortly after Christmas, and shockingly found this past week tied to a park bench in Springfield, MO., in a malnourished state. Fortunately, his microchip enabled us to reunite with him, and a dedicated volunteer went to retrieve him.

Billy deserves so much more. They all do! At the moment, he is mending a broken heart in foster care, but is once again available for adoption. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน He is a 9 month old Border Collie mix, weighing only 34 pounds. He also loves the companionship of other furry friends, both cats and dogs!

To schedule a meet and greet with Billy, call us, send us a message, or stop on by!

๐Ÿพ Trevor will be in the office today, please stop by to meet him. ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ He is great with other dogs, likes cats, loves playtime, enjoys toys, and is learning to walk on a leash while getting out on some adventures.

Initially, Trevor was fearful and stressed due to his shelter upbringing, but thanks to an exceptional foster, he is now learning the joys of home life. Although he is still nervous around new people, he is gaining confidence daily. Trevor would thrive in an active home with another confident dog to help him adjust. As a typical puppy, Trevor requires supervision, numerous toys, and patience as he navigates home life. ๐Ÿก ๐Ÿพ

Trevor is medium sized, approximately 40 pounds, 7-months-old, and possibly a herding breed mix. He is best suited for a home without young children due to his nervousness around new people. However, he would excel with an energetic, dog-savvy family willing to help him grow.

๐Ÿ—ฃ Let's talk Microchipping! ๐Ÿพ

Every year, thousands of pets go missing, and sadly, many are never reunited with their families. Collars and ID tags are helpful, but they can fall off or become unreadable. A microchip is a permanent form of identification that significantly increases the chances of getting your beloved pet back home safely.
โ€‹
๐Ÿ“Œ What Is a Microchip?
โ€‹
A microchip is a tiny device, about the size of a grain of rice, implanted under your petโ€™s skin. It contains a unique identification number linked to your contact information in a secure database. If your pet is lost and taken to a shelter or veterinary clinic, staff can scan the microchip to retrieve your details and reunite you with your pet.
โ€‹
๐Ÿถ Why Should You Microchip Your Pet?
โ€‹
โœ”๏ธ Permanent Identification โ€“ Unlike collars and tags, a microchip wonโ€™t fall off or fade.
โœ”๏ธ Higher Return Rate โ€“ Microchipped pets are more than twice as likely to be reunited with their families.
โœ”๏ธ Quick and Painless Procedure โ€“ Implanting a microchip is quick, safe, and no more painful than a routine vaccination.
โœ”๏ธ Proof of Ownership โ€“ A registered microchip serves as legal proof that your pet belongs to you.
โ€‹
๐Ÿ’ฐ Microchipping at Washington County SPCA โ€“ Just $10!
โ€‹
๐Ÿ—“ We offer affordable microchipping for just $10 to the public every Friday from 1 PM โ€“ 6 PM. No appointment is necessaryโ€”just stop by during our microchipping hours!

๐Ÿ“ Address: 16620 St. Hwy 123, Bartlesville, OK 74006

๐Ÿ›‘ Don't Forget to Register!
A microchip is only useful if it is registered with your current contact information. If you move or change phone numbers, update your petโ€™s microchip registration to ensure you can always be reached. You can manage, register, and change your pets microchip here: https://www.24petwatch.comโ€‹
