Joker update!
Training horse Jokers little before and current video. He came to me already started under saddle but had lots of wholes in his training. He was super touchy on his sides and super protective/reactive over his body. Things like brushing his legs/working around him and saddling him was very hard for him.He just lacked confidence and a good foundation. When he came in I started him over where I would start with any colt. We did the ground work and desensitizing and he had not been line driven. He was Super panicky at first being ground driven so that was one of the goals to be met before I could safely start riding him. He has been here a little over 4 months and I’m super happy with how he’s going. We rode in our small arena for his kids first trots on her own and we will eventually move into the outdoor and indoor arenas. It just takes time and consistency!! Just need to trust the process. His little rider has been doing a fantastic job on learning her horse joker and I’m looking forward to reaching more goals!
Diesel
I’m so proud of training horse Diesel! This guy came in for a start under saddle and he took some time to come around on the ground.Everything is really coming together now and he’s becoming a great student. With about 15-20 rides on this geldings belt i am extremely proud of his willingness to work! Good groundwork is the key to a good start. These horses learn from the ground up how to stop, back, side pass, spin, pressure and release, voice cues and so much more! We have to set them up for success and give them the confidence to succeed. I’m so exited to further his education and watch this gelding develop! ⭐️🖤
Dilly and cheek working together today!
The music couldn’t have fit better!! What a good girl 🥹💕!!
🔥🥹PK getting some obstacles and desensitizing done this morning during our session!
I’m so proud of this mare! 2nd ride today on this 8 year old and I had a very calm and collected Tilly girl! We’ve worked hard to get to here. I’m so grateful I get to give this horse a shot at being a good riding horse and being a working lady! 🩷 so much in store for us.
My circus horse!
Finn is such a talented smart 3 year old. There’s so much you can dive into working your horse on the ground! He’s so light you don’t even have to touch him lol !
#nohands
Here’s Tilly working the bridge today! I’m so proud of this horse and her progress! When I started with Tilly it was pretty rough and she just “didn’t know”. She is learning so fast and just needed time to come around to me. We’ve hit some hard spots and worked thru and made her more confident! Everything is finally clicking with her and I sat on her today!! Didn’t record but hoping for Tilly’s first ride soon! I’m so happy with this mare and what she is becoming 🥺🥰
This is how a first ride should look like when you properly prepare your horse for its first ride. Neptune was so confident, quiet, and willing. She was ready for this step today. “Stealing” the first ride is the worst thing you can do. It’s all about checking all those boxes and making a confident young horse ready to be ridden. I’m so proud of her and so exited to start bringing her aloung in her riding career! Good girl Neptune!!!!! 😌🥰
So so happy with 3 year old Atkins progress! Him and his owner are doing so well together. Late nights and long days of working these horses is so rewarding. So grateful to be doing what I love truly and working with some amazing horses and horse owners! Here’s a small clip of me on him today! 💕😍
Bitter sweet today as ivy headed home from her 2.5 months of training with me. Ivy came in to have a light start under saddle for her owner and she went home today a started horse! It’s been a pleasure to work with her as she was so quiet/smart and on the lazy side! The best part of this job is looking back on all the progress you’ve made and seeing these horses leave with an awesome foundation! Starting young horses has been such a passion of mine and is just so rewarding. I’m so exited to see what this 2 year old will accomplish with her owner in the future!
2 year old ivy’s first lope under saddle. So proud of starting this young filly and giving her the correct soft start she needed! She is amazing!
Those end session feels!!! Nala is here for 60 days. First session with Nala was a success! Today was a groundwork day! We worked on getting her to be soft coming off pressure. I did lots of bending left and right and then backing her lightly out of my space. In the beginning she was pushing through my space and not really keeping an eye of my body. By the end of our session she was backing with minimal pressure and watching my hoola hoop space much better! She really got to relax by the end of our session today with lots of licking and chewing! She is a sweet one and I’m exited to further her education!
