WARNING!! The 4th of July holiday is the number one time of year that dogs get loose and lost. Many dogs are terrified by the sounds and smell of the fireworks. That fear releases adrenaline and your dog could bolt and be unable to respond to your recall commands because they are driven by fear and adrenaline. PLEASE be extra careful; put a martingale collar on them; double leash them; keep them in a secure fenced in yard and your home. If fitted correctly, your dog will not be able to get out of the martingale collar even if spooked when on leash with you. Some dogs will also bolt through an invisible fence because the adrenaline is a powerful force within them that can override training and pain.
