Our sweet curmudgeon Cecil has left us š. Cecil Phoenix came to us 9 years ago very sick full of lice, missing an eye and full of Sass and bites but also full of love. He had a LOT of health problems but was still such a happy boy. He loved his junk food, because where he came from sold lots of it and people would throw scraps to him and his siblings. He came to us on 8/27/15 when my sister was driving home and he ran out in front of herā¦ so who did she call lol. Well there were 4 of them and they were all very sick. They all made it and got adopted out but Cecil had FIV and a multitude of other health issues so he ended up as a permanent. This eulogy could go on for pages but Iāll end it here. He will be so missed by so many. We love you Cecil..aka Seasawt, Stumps, stroehman, salty, Ceewee, Seaweed, CEECEE

Milo is the grey boy in the first picture, around 4 1/2 months old and such a sweet and loving boy.
Millie (black cat) is Miloās sister and she is also very sweet and loving. They both enjoy playing with each other and snugglikg with one another.
The last 3 kittens are Racoon (M)- heās the grey striped. Heās really chill and laid back.
Opossum (F)- sheās the tortie in the middle. Very curious and go with the flow.
And last but not least, Bunny (F)- sheās the runt. Sheās a tiger striped/tortie coat. She has a really big personality. These 3 are around 5 weeks old.

Some of you know Cinnabars story but for those that donāt....Cinnabar was a horse that I rescued when i was 18.
Some jerk left him in a field to starve to death and the farm where I trained and rode went to pick up another horse that they had purchased and saw him in the field and asked about him. The guy said "oh him I just left him there to die, you can take him."
SO they brought him back and I got a phone call asking if I wanted a challenge. I of course accepted and when I went to see him it was simply shocking.
He weighed only 500 pounds, you can see how horribly thin he was in the first picture and that was a few weeks after I rescued him(his healthy weight was just over 1200 pounds) he was loaded with scurvy, his eyes were sunken in and My Vet said he probably wouldn't have lasted another 24 hours.
It was a very long road to recovery with many ups and downs but we stuck it out together and when he was ready, I began to train him. He was not broke so that was a challenge in itself but he loved the attention and LOVED to jump. When I would turn him out by himself in a ring that had jumps he would actually jump them on his own...no rider, he just plain loved it!
He was a very large horse 16.2 hands and had a LOT of s***k and was certainly not the easiest of animals to deal with(too many injuries from his "s***k" to mention hahaha). But I loved him dearly. (See below pic of one of my injuries after he threw me into a split rail fence)
He became a wonderful and successful show horse and family member. I worked three jobs just to be able to afford to keep him, between his board, shows, equipment and his enormous vet bills, he had many issues and continuous injuries from him being well a bit of a hellion....but Iād do it all again... after all I have been a rescuer since I was a young child.
Milo is doing push ups to get in tip top shape for his new family that he is HOPING will want to give him a home.

Take a seat ...long post incoming. So a lot going on the last week. We now have 2 4.5 month old kittens that need homes. Trapped another kitten (one of peach fuzz'z siblings 12 weeks old) that is going to clinic to be fixed today and hoping we can assess if he/she can be socialized and that one will need a home. There are two more siblings we need to trap.
We have had over $2000 in vet bills this week. Thomas, Kit Kat, Peach Fuzz, Puddin( a colony cat that had an abscess) and Cecil. We have vet appointments for the 2 4 month old kittens coming up and they will need to be Spayed and Neutered. So the All Souls credit card is beginning to smoke, but we are saving lives and frankly can't do it without your support...now for the bad news.
Cecil (aka Seasawt aka Ceeweed aka Stroehman):
His breathing had gotten worse and he wasnāt eating great but was hungry and was vomiting often. We did X-rays and bloodwork and he has a lot going on. He has 2 masses in his lungs. His liver and spleen are enlarged, his asthma has worsened, his heart enzymes are higher than his last set of bloodwork. He is already on medication for the heart condition. He has intestinal thickening. His mouth is full of sores and he has significant degenerative changes in his spine.
Obviously, the big concern is that the masses are cancerous and the enlarged organs can be indicative of lymphoma. We have him on steroids and antibiotics. We will keep him on the steroids which is already helping with the mouth sores. He ate fairly well the last 2 days. The steroids will also help with generalized inflammation and we will continue him on the steroids until they are no longer helping, and as long as he is happy and not in pain, we will just treat him symptomatically and enjoy what quality time he has left with us. He could be with us for weeks, months, or the way our rescues fight and bounce back who knows. So, taking it day by day with our Seasawt.

Been working on the importance of setting boundaries and saying no ...it's a tough one because then you have the guilt of the NO hijacking your thoughts and questioning yourself...

They have never been around dogs , so we fro not know how they would do with them and have not been around dogs young children.
They are located in New Jersey and if within a reasonable drive the family is willing to work with someone for transport.

Due to a death in our family, we have two sweet, loving altered 3yr old male cats in need of a permanent loving home. They are in NJ, but we will make arrangements for anywhere as long as they can stay together. Vaccinated, healthy, housebroken. Everyone in family already has multiple cats or dogs so we are working hard to find a home where they will be loved & cared for.
Toby is home š. Thank you Amy for picking him up for me since Iām sick.
This is so heartbreaking, but Iām glad he is back home.
What Juniper thinks he looks like versus reality š¤£
Update on Jasper: he is at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital and will be kept overnight. He now has a UTI because he is unable to completely empty his bladder. They will be doing the MRI either tonight or tomorrow to try to determine why he is unable to use his back legs .

We are putting out a call for a case specific issue. This is Jasper. Jasper was one of our kitten rescues 9 years ago.
Jasper is very ill and in need of an MRI which has been quoted at $4000. The family that adopted him and has lovingly cared for him, needs our help.
They have already had him to the emergency vet and they did xrays, blood work and other diagnostics. Jasper is paralyzed in his back end and in pain. They have him on gabapentin. The emergency vet said there is nothing they can do without an MRI to determine the cause. They said the xrays did not show anything that would be causing the paralysis.

Finally trapped the last cat, Apollo, that got out of his house after a tragic event occurred. Heās been on the loose since the beginning of June and there was a team of people trying to capture him, dedicating hours and hours everyday to bring him back to safety and be reunited with his 2 siblings so they can begin to heal from the tragedy of losing their owner in a very traumatic way.
They will all need time to heal and adjust to their new life. Happily a family member is adopting the cats.

He is full of ticks, dehydrated and exhausted, but heās already feeling safe again. Heāll be seeing a Vet later this morning.
Poor Toby had a rough Fatherās Day. I had to do a glucose curve on him so had to. Get blood every two hours. He hates getting poked for it and his ears really bruise up š . He got extra lickables.

an update on Little Ginger. She is doing good. She was in for her check and vaccination. They are not sure that she will have sight in the one eye, but they said it looks ok and they will keep monitoring it. She is still getting the eye ointment.
Sheās playful and cuddly, and David just adores her.

This little sickly bundle of cute was found and rescued by David and our friend Sharon reached out to ask if we could help get this baby the veterinary care she needs. Soooo our fundraiser post last week that we paid to boost reached almost 26,000 people, had engagement from 3853 people and we raised.... wait for it.....$195.00 ,$50 of which goes right to Fb for boosting it.... I believe it's time for us to tap out.
So once again we are coming to beg for donations....it gets old....for our regular donors AND for us, believe me.
We had expenses exceeding $2900 in the last 2 months In vet bills alone, that doesn't include daily care of the colonies and permanent rescues we support which runs about $1200 a month if we supply the colony caretakers with SUPPLEMENTAL food and the medications for our in house rescues.
And what we received in for the last 2 months equals $845....I'm sure you can see the problem here.

We are fundraising for this handsome boy, Ash, who began showing up at a Friends house in Philadelphia. We had him to the vet yesterday because he was obviously having issues. He has stomatitis and will need extractions done. He also has a mass that is cassuing to not be able to Meow correctly. When they put him under for the dental they will find out what is going on with the mass. Hopefully it can be dealt with. Obviously this will be several thousand dollars..dollars we don't have lol. So let's do what we do as an animal community and get ban together to raise the funds to get this surgery. We are looking at about $2000 for the dental not including a possible surgical removal of the tumor if it is operable. This boy will also be looking for a home...he is estimated to be about 3-4 years old and according to Noelle, friendly. She feels he was a dumped cat. He is most likely FIV positive, but we will have him tested to confirm. But in our experience with the issues he's having that is typically the case. FIV is NOT an issue when considering having them with other cats...If you Vet tells you otherwise, find a new Vet that actually educates themselves. He is in the Philadelphia PA area. To Honor our brave Henry PLEASE take a few moments to read and please look through the photos of his transformation, and if you would like to make a tax deductible donation in his honor to help us continue to save lives there is a button below. It's hard to believe this was 8 years ago that Henry made his journey to his next life. Henry was rescued from the depths of hell in Philly by Noelle and Chris. He was being tortured and used to tease fighting dogs He made his way to us when he was ready to leave the hospital. He was a truly broken soul, trusting no one. Over the next few months I spent hours just sitting with Henry, playing music for him and talking to him. Some days he was receptive to touch and some days he would let me know in no uncertain terms he was not. We had a camera in his room to see if he acted differently when no one was in his room, sadly he did not. He just layed in that bed hour after hour and did the basics to stay alive. But day after day I would wake up an hour earlier than I normally would so I could sit with him and when I would get home I would do the same...just sit, read to him, sing(he loved that hahaha) play meditation music. I put a mattress on the floor and would split my time sleeping part of the night in his room part with my crew. Slowly he started coming out from under my pilates machine where I put his bed because that was his safe haven of choice. At first he would wait till I was laying down with my eyes closed and he would walk around the outside perimeter of the room to get to his food and litter and then would go right back to his bed...then he would carefully walk right past the mattress watching to see if I moved or opened my eyes. Then one day he stopped right by my face and just stared at me. I only had my eyes opened very slightly so as to not scare him off. He sat there for about 5 minutes just looking at me. At first I was a little nervous, was he going to go after me, but he didn't. Just watched me and then we
Franklin is now neutered and has a clean bill of health. His tail is also crooked, just like Coopers was. The vet is not sure if they were intentionally broken or if it is some sort of genetic disfigurement. Well Franklin was indeed a boy, and we think he is going to be sweet like Cooper. He was meowing ( which ferals donāt do) and not reacting when I would pet him through the trap, so in collaboration with our fellow rescuers at Cat NAPS of Pottstown we have decided to continue to assess his temperament and hopefully find him a loving home. He is in Bethās spare room now and he allowed her to pet his head and was blinking at her. Once we determine he is adoptable Cat naps will help this beautiful boy find a family. We are in great need of donations. We have been very actively TNR'ing, on top of our regular activities of feeding colonies and care of the permanent rescues. Just in the first month of this year we have tnr'd 16 cats. we couldn't trap during the extreme weather so we are a little behind. We will hopefully have another 15 done by the beginning of next week...this all costs mega dollars. Please support our efforts to reduce the feral population growth and the suffering that these poor souls endure. We cannot do it without support. A tale of tailsā¦ never a full moment here š¤£. I went out to the kitchen to heat up my coffee and see Butterbean, Brandon, and Juniper staring under the fridgeā¦ that only means one thing when the weather turns cold on a rural property. So I get my flat silicone broom, lay on floor with my flashlight and see the little guy squished into a corner. Get the broom under to chase him out. He runs out and the chase ensues. The 3 stooges, ( Butter, Brandon and Juniper) who are rescues but have never had to hunt for a meal in their life, start basically running in circles chasing the mouse around. Meanwhile I get my mouse catching cup( very wide and tall). Come back to the mayhem and get ready to corner the mouse to catch himā¦ in saunters Toby, who was a feral for 9 years, and in one swift move grabs the mouse in his mouth. Mind you Toby has NO teeth. I go over with my cup tell him to drop it, he looks at me and hesitates, I repeat drop it again and he drops it in the cup. Mickey is now back outside and hopefully learned this is not really a safe harbor. As a side note the other two cats who came here as ferals, Cecil and Thomas, were busy napping on the memory foam bed š¤£ And as a secon side note. Here is a quick look into what we did for most of the day today. We took a half day of work so that we could trap these cats and get them neutered before they have the chance to produce more cats that will live the unfair life of the outdoors. Sometimes it is nice to get an inside look into what your donations go to. Your donations allow us to continue our mission- reduce the feral cat population. Thank you for your support šāā¬š½
