If you think a porcupine’s quill is like a sewing needle, you’re wrong… These darn things are barbed, and take some force to pull out…😫

Tanning a hide starts with fleshing it. We use a fleshing wheel to remove all the fat, flesh, and membrane to reveal the skin of the animal. Once it’s all removed it gets salted, then hung up dry.

Sometimes a picture just doesn’t cut it! Here’s a video of an Illinois giant we mounted. Thank you Zak Hill for trusting us with your trophy of a lifetime!

We do all tanning for our customers in house! We tan all hides for mounts and we also do soft tanning! The video shows a finished back hide of a deer. One of the many animals we can tan for you.

Antler plaques are a great way to display your buck!
