🎄🐾 Holiday Pet Safety Tips! 🐾🎄

The holidays are full of fun, but they also come with some hidden dangers for our furry friends. To keep your pets safe this season, be aware of these common holiday hazards:

Toxic Foods: Chocolate, grapes, and xylitol (in sugar-free treats) can be harmful to pets.
Holiday Plants: Poinsettias, mistletoe, and lilies are toxic if ingested.
Ornaments & Tinsel: Small or breakable decorations can be a choking hazard.
Ribbons & Wrapping Paper: Pets love to chew, so keep gift wrap and ribbons out of reach.
Candles & Lights: Be sure to keep candles and string lights out of your pet’s reach to avoid burns or electrical hazards.
Guests & Noise: Large gatherings can be overwhelming for some pets. Make sure they have a quiet space to retreat to.
Toys: Keep pet toys safe and age-appropriate—avoid small parts that could be a choking risk.

In observance of Thanksgiving, BVC will be closed on November 28 and 29. We encourage our clients to plan ahead for any medication pick-ups and pet care needs before the holiday.

Meet Willie!
Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming this very smart and sweet sheepdog-poodle mix for his first visit. Willie is calm and curious, and he quickly won us over with his charming personality!

At BVC, we are here to help pets through all stages of life, providing the care and support they need. We look forward to many more visits with this special pup!

These rambunctious Pitbull puppies came full of energy and kisses to share with our staff. And after their first wellness exam, Chip decided to catch some ZZZs and get comfy with Dr. Costa. It’s hard work being a puppy!

After seven years as our lead veterinary technician at Bartonville Veterinary Center, Lindsey is moving on to pursue new adventures. Her dedication, compassion, and expertise have made a lasting impact on our team, as well as the pets and clients we serve. Lindsey’s contributions have truly helped shape our practice. While we’re sad to see her go, we’re excited for all the new opportunities ahead.
