We were working in the shelter late one night when our eyes beheld an eerie sight. Suddenly to our surprise from their cages the cats did rise.
Thank you Tango, Ashley, Hunter, Asher and Suzette for starring in our Halloween movie. They are all great cats and available for adoption. Stop by to see these 3 year olds in living color or click vol4animals.org. You too can adopt a movie star!
Sweet Special Needs Kitten
True to the story of Rikki Tikki Tavi, good triumphs even when the odds seem low. Our Taki is the epitome of courage and victory. Taki is vision impaired and happily thriving in a very good foster home. He has overcome his disability and is ready to move on to a forever home with you. If interested, please contact us at [email protected] to set up a meet and greet from foster care. Please share to help generate interest for him!
9/23: George has been adopted!
“Do you remember the 21st day of September? Love was changing the minds of pretenders. While chasing the clouds away.” This crew hopes to remember September 21st as their adoption and happy ever after day. Come on by for a visit and read their stories at vol4animals.org.
School starts Monday for these 4 kids. We wish them well as they start our Path To Home program. VFA and the Orleans Correctional Facility developed a dog training and fostering program that provides socialization and basic obedience training under the direction of a certified dog trainer. They will be available for adoption upon graduation in approximately 12 weeks. Good luck pups!
Meet the Torties! Amber and her kittens. Mocha, Maple and Muffin. All Tortoiseshells. All available for adoption. All at the shelter.
We send a heartfelt thank you to Reverend Roula Alkhouri, David Blake and the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia for their wonderful help and support for our 40th Anniversary celebration!

Louis in his new litter box!
The adventures of Louis. Louis, our kitty with the bad eyes, went camping with his foster family this past week. He is doing great - he is up to 2.5 lbs - so he is getting closer to having his surgery. After he and the foster family returned home they introduced him to a new litter box! What a brave little kitty he is. Nothing bothers this little guy.
