Kitten season never ends but it does slow down. Our sweet Sally is still in a foster home waiting and hoping her perfect home will soon be found. She is 6 months old now. A very shy girl in need of a very special home. A calm home full of patience, time and love. She has been around dogs but keeps her distance. She does like cats. Check out this honey of a snow bunny. Bubbles just graduated in the top of her class in our Path To Home obedience training program. She is an adult Boxer mix. Very affectionate, so sweet, good with dogs, housebroke and crate trained. She loves to play ball, until your arm falls off. Bubbles isn’t always at the shelter. Barsik: A Christmas Story-Chapter 2. The spirit of Christmas is in the air and there are elves everywhere. Remember wayward Barsik. Lost, found and trying to get home to Chicago for Christmas. This morning he left our shelter and is heading to his family thanks to this amazing Christmas elf. Thank you, prayers and safe travels! We hope Chapter 3 finds Barsik curled up under the family tree.

We were working in the shelter late one night when our eyes beheld an eerie sight. Suddenly to our surprise from their cages the cats did rise. Thank you Tango, Ashley, Hunter, Asher and Suzette for starring in our Halloween movie. They are all great cats and available for adoption. 9/23: George has been adopted! “Do you remember the 21st day of September? Love was changing the minds of pretenders. While chasing the clouds away.” This crew hopes to remember September 21st as their adoption and happy ever after day. Come on by for a visit and read their stories at vol4animals.org.

School starts Monday for these 4 kids. We wish them well as they start our Path To Home program. VFA and the Orleans Correctional Facility developed a dog training and fostering program that provides socialization and basic obedience training under the direction of a certified dog trainer. They will be available for adoption upon graduation in approximately 12 weeks. Good luck pups!
