🐾 Fun Fact Friday! Did you know that polydactyl cats are often called “Hemingway cats”? 🐱📚 This quirky trait means they have extra toes—typically on their front paws, but sometimes even on their back ones! While most cats have 18 toes, polydactyls can have as many as 28!

These unique felines are not just adorable; they were adored by author Ernest Hemingway, who had a bit of a soft spot for them. So, if you spot a cat with more toes than usual, you might just be looking at a true literary legacy! 😻✨

🍂🐾 As the colder weather rolls in, it's important to remember how it can impact our furry friends! Here are a few tips to keep your pets safe and cozy this season:

1. **Keep Them Warm**: Short-haired pets may need extra sweaters or blankets. Consider indoor playtime to keep them warm and active.

2. **Limit Outdoor Time**: When it's really cold, limit walks and playtime outside to prevent paw pads from freezing or getting hurt on icy surfaces.

3. **Hydration Is Key**: Make sure your pets have access to fresh water, as they can easily become dehydrated in winter.

4. **Watch for Signs**: Keep an eye out for shivering, whining, or seeking warmth, which are signs your pet might be too cold.

5. **Check Their Paws**: After walks, check for ice buildup between their toes and use pet-safe de-icers when treating your sidewalks.

Let’s keep our pets safe and warm this winter! ❄️❤️

Contrary to popular belief, dogs do not age at a rate of 7 human years for each year in dog years.
A more accurate human vs. canine age comparison considers the dog’s size and breed. Smaller dogs age more slowly and have longer life spans. Larger dogs, in contrast, age more quickly and have shorter life spans. In addition, certain breeds enjoy more longevity than others.
