UPDATE: Many have asked about our beautiful Land Rover that we won a few years ago. While it is a wonderful vehicle, it is not large enough for our regular vet runs which are most often 15-25 animals of all sizes which must be crated for transport. We are exploring options for the sale or repurpose of this vehicle to help offset the cost of a more functional transport vehicle.

Our current shelter van is extremely aged, in significant mechanical disrepair, and is no longer safe or reliable. We are in urgent need of a reliable transport vehicle to help get our sweet animals to and from vet appointments safely.

If you or someone you know has a used Suburban, large SUV, Sprinter van, small bus, or other similar size transport vehicle that you’re looking to sell affordably—or would consider donating—we’d be incredibly grateful.

Every ride means better care, faster treatment, and a healthier future for our adoptable animals. Your generosity could make a huge difference in their lives.

Please message us directly or tag someone who might be able to help. And thank you for always showing up for the animals and the people who love them. ❤️

IMPORTANT Event Update: Howl-O-Ween Fundraiser Cancelled 🐾

With a heavy heart, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming Howl-O-Ween fundraising event for the Humane Society of Independence County due to low community interest.

This event was created with love and a deep commitment to supporting the shelter’s lifesaving work. While we’re disappointed, we remain hopeful that future efforts will spark greater engagement and enthusiasm.

To everyone who helped brainstorm, plan, and promote—thank you. Your support means the world. And to those who care deeply about our furry friends, we encourage you to continue showing up for the shelter in whatever way you can: donations, volunteering, adopting, fostering or simply spreading the word.

We’re not giving up—just regrouping. Stay tuned for future opportunities to make a difference. 🐶🎃💛

For those few who have purchased tables, you will be contacted directly regarding your refund.

🐶 Hi, I’m Fletcher… but my friends call me Forest. 🌲

📍 Age: 5 months young
📍 Breed: Lab/Pyrenees mix (aka 100% handsome floof)
📍 Status: Neutered, vaccinated, and ready to mingle

✨ About Me:
• Shy at first, but once I warm up, I’m your loyal cuddle buddy.
• Big fan of nighttime snuggles—your blanket is my blanket now. 🛌
• Potty trained & dog door trained (yep, I’m that smart).
• Already working on recall—because I actually want to come back when you call. 😉
• Must have another dog friend—I love to wrestle and romp!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Best with older kids & adults.
💖 Looking for my forever family who’ll give me patience, playtime, and belly rubs.

So… swipe right (or just message the shelter) if you’re ready for adventure, loyalty, and a whole lot of puppy love. 🐾

If you see this, please spread the word to help Minor find a home.

Saturday marked Minor’s fourth adoption event… and still no forever family of her own. Four times she has sat patiently, watching other pups find their happily-ever-after, while she waits for hers.

Minor is a one-year-old shepherd mix. She is a smart and loving girl. In her foster home she has blossomed into a dog who enjoys belly rubs in the morning, cuddles at night, car rides, hikes, running outside, and long sniffy walks. She’s even mastered her basics—sit, down, leave it, and wait—and loves having her brain challenged with new things to learn.

Minor has plenty of playful energy and would be happy with a canine sibling around her size to romp with. She would be ok as the only dog also.. Cats are still unknown.

This sweet girl is both crate-trained and house-trained. She walks beautifully on leash and is so ready for a family to call her own.

Minor has been overlooked too many times, but we know the right people are out there—someone who sees the gem she truly is and will give her the forever love she’s been waiting for.

Could you be Minor’s happily-ever-after? If you are interested in this gorgeous girl please email a completed application to [email protected] applications can be found on the website.
