Treadway Deer Taxidermy

Treadway Deer Taxidermy The decision to have an animal mounted should be based off the memory of the hunt and the animal and not just of the size.

MONSTERS DO EXIST!!!!! I’ll be honest, after receiving this Monster, thinking twice about walking to the deer stand with just a bow and a quiver full of arrows! This stud was killed on the outer limits of Sulphur Rock, him and a sow almost the same size! A work in progress but I had to share! Y’all be careful out there!

Thank you Carter for your help with our deer this year!!!

Taking a child hunting is got to be the most rewarding outdoor experience there is. Wednesday I took my son hunting for the 7th or 8th time this season. All hunts have been from a ground blind with a bow so far but this time it was muzzleloader season so we took my late Grandpaws muzzleloader. I had the gun worked on and unloaded this year because it had set loaded in our gunsafe cents 2008, the last time we had hunted with it. Little did I know this walk up In the woods with my 5 year old son would be a lifelong memory for both of us.

On the way to the tree we were going to set beside we spooked a decent 8 but because I was carrying Carter (his walking was just so loud with short legs through the dry leaves) and my heart was pumping and then adrenaline added to that, he got away.

We found the perfect tree to set beside with a dead limb that had fallen in the past month right beside us to give Carter some security being set on the ground eye level with everything. Because he was getting over being sick he was already tuckered out and soon fell asleep on my shoulder. It didn’t take long before I saw legs walking through the underbrush and could tell it was a deer. At this point I didn’t care if it was a small doe or the next state record, all I knew was my son was with me and I wanted to “make a memory”. I started trying to wake him up but all that happened was a small groan from him as he crawled into my lap and passed out again, snoring and all. The deer was only 60 yards away and I didn’t want to spook it so I let him sleep, hoping he was quite enough that maybe the deer wouldn’t hear us. Not seconds later I saw horns, well one horn. I thought to myself that I wished he was awake but not much I could do now but hold on for the ride. The deer was still in heavy brush with no possible shot, so I waited. I waited for what felt like 30 mins but was only 3 to 4. Soon the deer presented a broadside shot. I raised, steadied and slowly pulled the trigger. CLICK!!!! It didn’t fire. This gun has a history of doing this at the absolute wrong time. So I reset the bolt and took aim again. Time slowed down as my heart spreed up. Waiting for another shot. Soon one presented itself. I slowly pulled the trigger. BOOM!!!!!! As the smoke cleared o could see a white belly on the ground and was about to shake Carter out of his deep slumber but he bolted right up, slobber on his cheek wide eyed and said “ Did we get it??” Tears filled my eyes as I realized the forever memory was in play. I said “Yes bubby” and the tears hit hard. The rest is history from calling what seemed to be like our whole family one by one to let him tell them we got a big-un! He hadn’t even seen the deer yet!

It didn’t matter that the deer wasn’t a giant, all that mattered was what had just happened and knowing this would be engraved in our minds forever, together, with Granddaddy’s gun!!

This is what’s it’s all about folks!!

It’s that time of year again! For all those that are prepping to arrow a big buck, I’ll be waiting for y’all! This year a few things have changed, we have moved to our new house right up the street from the mobile home! Our new address is 559 Morris ave, on the left side of the road! Our setup is currently being upgraded in a few different ways, and turnaround should be much faster than last season, usually within a week!! We appreciate everyone that has brought us your deer, cattle and other species over the last couple of years and we sure hope your euros turned out the way you wanted them! Prices are still pretty much the same! We did run into a few different requests last year so we modified the prices a hair!

Deer head European mounts are $50-$100
$50 for basic, quick turnaround mount, no plaque,
$100 for detailed, nasal cavities left in, on plaque.
Plaques come in different shapes, sizes and costs, most plaques are included with the detailed mounts, customer has to pay the extra for special plaques that we have to order.
There is a $10 charge for dead heads and heads that stink of have bugs in them!
Both are great options! 90% want the Basic!

Cow euros have really become popular! $75-$200
$75 for polled(hornless).
$100 for heads with horns ranging from small to 3ft total.
$150 for heads with horns 3ft+ to 5ft total.
$200 for heads with horns 5ft+ total.
There is a $15 charge for deadheads or heads that stink or have bugs in them!
We also buy cow heads with horns as well, mostly fresh, not Euro mounted!

Bears are $75.

Small animals are a custom price, depending on many different things. Ranging from $50-$150.

Feel free to share!!! Thank you and God Bless!!
