Barn family!!! All is well here! The horses are in... dry, content and warm enough the waters were not frozen inside. Stay warm yourselves and for those of you in warm climates could you PLEASE send some of that sun to the north!!! 🥶

Update!!! This mare is SAFE! She has been bailed!! Congratulations Gretchen Swan and bless your heart giving this mare a chance!! Gretchen and I took a ride this morning to Allegheny to get our hands on this mare in person. This sweet girl will be coming home to Gretchen here at HSCM tomorrow evening! She will be starting out in quarantine to safeguard our others from any possible illnesses. She will be getting a lot of tlc as she's really beat up and thin. Im feeling confident this mare is going to be a good fit. Looking forward to helping Gretchen with her. ( doesn't have a name yet)

Fall has arrived here at HSCM! We have been so busy keeping things flowing smoothly this summer I haven't spent much time posting. I'll try to catch up on some posts!

We'd like to welcome "Lorne" to our HSCM family! Lorne's family, Terry and Bob, have been long time friends and clients here at the farm. Their 4legged kids, Marshal, Jack, Latte and Victor winter with us each year. They will soon meet their new brother! I've even had the privilege of driving Lorne myself ❤️

English day at the fair yesterday! Another two wonderful riders showing off their horses. Both girls did very well and came away with ribbons in showmanship, equitation, and pleasure, building upon the same dedication of Friday's show. Their hard work all season resulted in 100% correct leads during their first fair where they had to show at the canter. Great job ladies!

It's always difficult to come home from a show and summarize everything into one post; there's so many days, weeks, months, and even years of hard work that are put in by both horses and riders. It's early mornings and late nights, sunburns and rainstorms, tears and smiles. It's bathing and blanketing and hoping your horse doesn't roll because the show goes on tomorrow morning, mud covered horses or shiny coats. It's brushing, braiding, clipping, and always putting the horse first, even when its's late and you want to get home. It's being nervous or tired or scared and mounting up anyway, and holding your head high whether you walk out of the ring with a ribbon or not.

Congratulations to all of the riders who put in the time and effort to get ready for today and come to fair with their best riding and horsemanship possible. You all did wonderful and I'm proud of each one of you for being dedicated riders that always put the horse first. You deserve every ribbon you came away with! 🐴
