It's hard to leave your pets at home when you have errands to run, but being separated could cause your pet to become overly anxious. It's important to be aware of separation anxiety to help your pet overcome it.

Make sure to schedule an appointment with your VCA veterinarian to discuss how to handle your pet's separation anxiety.

Positive Rabies Case in Bath.

On the evening of June 28th, a male resident of Western Ave. reported an aggressive-acting fox that had tried biting the man on his boots. The man kicked the fox away and called Bath Police.
Officers responded quickly and were able to dispatch the animal.
The fox was taken to the Health and Environmental Testing lab to be tested for rabies.

This morning, July 3, the City of Bath received confirmation from Maine DHHS Center for Disease Control and Prevention that the fox had tested positive for rabies.

Bath experienced several rabies cases in 2019 involving aggressive foxes. The last confirmed rabies case in Bath was in January of 2020 (1/6/20, grey fox).

Bath residents are advised to be cautious around wildlife and report any suspicious or sick-appearing animals. Pet owners should ensure their pets are up to date on rabies vaccinations.
