Video of me and Ares.๐๐
Oreo! He loves eating chicken sticks! He lost some weight when we brought him to LSU last month, but heโs gaining it back now that we know what he likes to eat. ๐๐ฆ
Oreo Update:
So Oreo came to us mid August. He had a terrible eye infection where he couldnโt even open them. He was very dehydrated, hadnโt eaten in two months, and had several parasites including salmonella, along with an impaction. We did eye drops 4 times a day along with daily soaks and antibiotics and in a couple weeks he passed the impaction and was eating baby food. Early October he started to eat actual food and Repashy and his eye infection was gone and was salmonella free. Well we tested a fecal today and heโs 100% parasite free! Heโs been eating regular food. In the video heโs eating chicken sticks. He loves bananas, bell peppers, and Dubia Roaches. He can finally go into the reptile room and out of the quarantine room!! We canโt wait to bring him to his first show and tell!! We are so excited!!๐๐ฆ๐
Stevie got a new enclosure that fits him!! We still have some accessories to add along with a bigger hide that our friend Thomas made for us. Itโs a 8x2x2!! Stevie can stretch out now!๐๐๐
Brooke went to sit at the back of the class when we pulled out the snakes for the presentation. We are so proud of her for overcoming her fears and holding an 8 foot Burmese Python by the end of our visit. ๐๐
Oreo Update:
Heโs eating. He loves baby food and blueberries as a treat. Heโs earned it! He has his eyes open all the time now. He doesnโt have one of the several parasites anymore. We will continue to monitor that. He still doesnโt have all his strength back but heโs moving around. We do daily soaks and eye drops and he went and got some sun yesterday outside. This little guy was on deathโs doorstep when we got him so we are glad heโs doing so well. Again thanks to the LSU Zoo Med team for all their help and support!! Stay tuned for more updates. ๐๐ฆ

Oreo Update:
Heโs back with us after spending the week at LSU. He still has a ways to go. He still has parasites and salmonella so we are being very cautious and wearing gloves and disinfecting everything. That being said, heโs doing so much better!! Heโs eating, heโs standing up and walking, and his eye infection has vastly improved! The LSU Zoo Med Team and their students did an INCREDIBLE job helping this guy begin recovery. We can't stress enough how much we appreciate them, we really don't think this guy would have made it without their care.
We love this guy so much and are pumped to see some improvements. Also this is just a transport tank and not his actual tank. Keep watching for more updates. ๐๐๐ผ๐ฆ
