Meet Eevee!

This sweet one-eyed beauty is just 4 months old and is full of energy! She came to CAA with a severely injured eye and our vet staff jumped into action - unfortunately, her eye could not be saved but Eevee has completely healed and is ready for adoption!

Don’t let Allie’s grey face fool you—this 7-year-old beauty is full of life and love! Allie has the perfect balance of energy; she’s always up for a game of fetch or a walk but settles down like a dream when playtime is over. She’s incredibly well-behaved, loves car rides, and is one of the smartest dogs her foster mom has ever had!

Allie is the total package:

🐾Super Smart - knows all the tricks and is house-trained and kennel-trained!
🐾Best Playmate - LOVES to play fetch but is happy to settle down for nap right after
🐾Good with cats and dogs! - She does well with the pets in the home, but has shown some resource guarding behavior when the other pets get near her food or toys but she has never shown this behavior with people or children.

Allie is heartworm-negative, loving, and ready to be the perfect companion for a lucky adopter. Could that be you?

Josh is a young, vibrant Retriever mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! This sweet and gentle boy adores carrying toys in his mouth, playing a good game of fetch, and soaking up belly rubs in the sunshine.
Josh is treat motivated and already knows commands like "sit" and "come." He’s also leash trained and likely house trained, making him an excellent fit for a first-time dog owner! This baby would love to be your new best friend!!

This sweet girl is a 4 year old American Bulldog with a super chill personality. She’s a bit of a couch potato who enjoys lounging around but will happily go for walks—just expect a few rest breaks along the way! She has had raving reviews from her date-a-dog and sleepover outings, detailing how perfect of a dog she is! This big, angel baby is house-trained, great with kids and lots of people, and ready to find her forever home! Powder has been staying with us at CAA for almost 50 days & we are all desperate to find her the relaxing home she so deserves.

At CAA, we believe every pet deserves a loving home, no matter their age. That’s why we offer 50% off adoption fees for adopters 60 years or older who welcome a pet 6 years or older into their homes.
Rizzo is the perfect candidate for this special adoption route—this sweet, 9 year old baby is ready to find her forever family! She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but with gentle words and slow movements, she warms up quickly. Once she trusts you, she’ll happily soak up all the neck scratches you’re willing to give.

Meet Bernie!

This one year old American Bulldog is one energetic boy!! He loves to play rough and rowdy with other dogs and people, but don't be fooled - he's a cuddle bug at heart! He leans into you when you pet him and if he's feeling it, he'll even roll over and let you scratch his belly! He loves rope toys, squeaky toys, and tennis balls. He knows sit, high-five, lay down, and jump, and he's house-trained! Because of Bernie's hyperactive personality, he would do well in a home where smaller animals and children are not present. Our next pup warming hearts & foster homes is Brussel Sprout!

One year old Brussel Sprout is the sweetest and most affectionate dog around! He loves nothing more than cuddling up with his favorite humans—there’s something truly special to him about a cozy snuggle session. Brussel Sprout is also a curious explorer who enjoys his walks, taking in all the new sights, sounds, and smells along the way. Fully leash and potty trained, he’s ready for any adventure that comes his way. He’s very curious about other animals and, with the right introductions and time, could potentially do well with them. We have the sweetest furry friends to introduce for this frigid 💟 Foster Friday 💟

First up is Pepper! This two year old, 28-pound bundle of love and joy is searching for his forever family. His foster mom describes him as a special kind of good boy—so special, in fact, that she thinks he might be part human! Pepper has an incredible ability to sense when someone needs his attention and when to give them space to relax. Whether it's resting his head on a hand, offering sweet kisses, or showing off his many talents, he’s always ready to bring a smile.

What makes Pepper amazing?
He knows commands like sit, down, show belly, shake paw, wait, come, stay, and more. Call his name, and he’ll be right there! Point in a direction, and he’ll happily follow.
He adores people, including kids, and is naturally curious about the world. He rarely barks and isn’t the guard dog type—he’s all about love, not drama.
Whether it's a quick zoomie session or a lazy day on the couch, he's up for anything. He also checks in throughout the day to make sure everyone is doing great.
He’s fully house, kennel, and leash trained, and he doesn’t chew on things he shouldn’t.
He’s great with other dogs and hasn’t met cats yet, but he’s open to learning.

Introducing this big boy, Yam!!

Yam is a 4 and a half year old lab mix with the energy levels of a puppy! He loves to play fetch and tug-of-war, but he's still working on his leash skills (he just gets a little excited). Yam is treat-motivated and knows some commands like "sit" and "stop" and he does well with other dogs. He is also a big fan of belly rubs and will happily flop over for attention! While he has lots of energy, he also loves to cuddle up after a long day of fun. He really is a big teddy bear.
Because of his enthusiasm, Yam would do best with a companion that can match his energy levels. He’d love a backyard to run around in, but as long as he gets his daily walks and play sessions, he’ll be one happy pup!

Yam has been neutered, is up to date on his vaccinations, and is ready to find his forever home! Swing by and meet him today! We're open until 6pm.

Since our post yesterday, we have only had 12 dogs leave our shelter. We need 40 more dogs to leave by the end of the day tomorrow. We are completely out of space, despite several adoption events, collaborating with our rescue partners, and exhausting our current foster network. If you have been thinking of adopting, NOW IS THE TIME! We are having an emergency waived fee adoption special on all ready to go animals until the end of the day tomorrow. If you can’t adopt, here’s how YOU can help: - If you are able to foster, please stop by the shelter today or tomorrow before 6pm. Berry is available for $0 adoption fees today and tomorrow, courtesy of Empty the Shelters Week & the BISSELL Pet Foundation ! This sweet boy is a 1 year and 9 month old terrier pit mix and he's been with us since mid-September! Berry is an absolute cuddle bug - he would lay down for belly rubs all day long and be perfectly content. He is leash trained, does well in cars, and is friendly towards kids and other dogs. Berry is very smart, he knows commands like "sit, down, no, and come" and he knows his name! He's been on multiple dates with our volunteers through Date-A-Dog, and they all describe him as sweet, gentle, and obedient! He truly is the perfect pup.
