DID YOU KNOW? 🤔
There are 21 different species of cockatoos, all of which are recognisable with their showy crests and curved bills. Cockatoos are somewhat less colourful than other parrots, with their coloured features found primarily on their crest, cheeks, under their wings or tail.
White cockatoos and smaller cockatiels are more commonly found as companions than black cockatoos, many of which are on the decline in the wild due to loss of habitat and the illegal bird trade.
Currently, seven species of cockatoo are considered to be vulnerable or worse, including the red-vented cockatoo and the yellow-crested cockatoo, which are listed as critically endangered. 😎

Flat perches are awesome to add to your birds home, plus it is an awesome napping of feeding platform and great for older birds, arthritis, balance issues or just to have another shape for their feet health. They are made of hard wood (oak) and oiled with raw linseed oil that id food grade and safe for chewing on but makes it easier to clean and get the p**p off.

If you use linseed (flaxseed) oil on anything for your pets make sure it is RAW!

Septic Tank Fundraising!

Hey guys, today I’d like to start raising money for the fundraising for our septic tank. We have several estimates that we expect to have in the next week, and a new septic needs to be installed before we can move the birds into the new facility.

The original estimate was $8500, and since then they have added a pump house and another tank to the permit for what we need to have installed. The system includes a 20 x 50 drainfield, a 1500 gallon tank, 1000 gallon pump tank and a pump.

To get it started I’m going to probably put it on my credit cards but I need help. I’m going to probably do a live later today to talk to you guys about this in more depth while I am out there at the facility. My guess is we’re going to need to raise closer to $20,000 but I expect it to be between 10k and $20,000.

If we by chance raise more than that, we also need to put in a new bathroom that’s handicap accessible as part of this first set of projects as well as a new composite deck system over the top of the front porch, and we need to install a kitchen, and need new plumbing so there’s no shortage of places to stick any extra money.

If you guys are able to donate even a dollar it helps us get closer to the goal.
