Our clients are amazing!! Currently sitting at the vet with Miss Poppy to run some tests and blood work, and they don’t even bat an eye to moving appointment times and rescheduling. I can’t express how grateful I am for that flexibility and understanding 🩷
Poppy has been battling some digestive issues the last 24 hours which landed us in the ER two nights ago and now this appointment. Please keep our little drill Sargent in your positive thoughts 🐾

Sadie received her first Thera-Clean bath. She has chronic ear infections so we are hoping this will help! Notice the hair in the water? Her pores are opening up and releasing the hair that she would be shedding in the car or at home! Double win!

Poppy got a Thera-Clean Microbubble bath today. The Thera-Clean system can help with skin issues, allergies, shedding and muscle and joint pain. Usually she HATES bath time, but this soothing process must have felt pretty good!

I share this because we see so many cases where the dog runs the owner. This trainer can be a little abrasive to the more sensitive dog owner, but everything he shares is for the better life of the dog.
I will share a quote from a rescue owner that I heard yesterday-“just because you love animals, doesn’t mean you take care of them.” And this is painfully true when it comes to training.

Are you truly ready to change? We don’t ask this question lightly because we know how easy it is to say the word “yes.”

To say you’re willing to do anything and stop old habits is one thing, but to actually act upon those words is another. Change doesn’t happen without the real, hard, and sometimes “ugly” work.

How does this relate to dog training? Because we see it every day. We have owners who are struggling and at their wits end, while their dog is on their final chance.

Something has got to give. So what will it be?

Are you ready to become a real leader to your dog? To get your dog out of the bedroom and off the couch? To move your dog away and give it a correction when it breaks command to demand attention from you? Will you be emotionally vested in recognizing the signs and not letting your heart talk you out of doing the “mean” things?

Are you going to be firm, consistent, and disciplined even when things seem to be getting better, or will you let it all slide at the first sign of “good enough”? Are you in it for the long haul?

We see it every day. We see owners struggle when they don’t have to, but it’s also hard to train your own dog and do the stuff that takes actual work.

We’re not talking about the reps of obedience. we’re talking about the emotional work like holding your dog accountable and correcting unwanted behaviors.

So many people feel bad about this part of dog ownership, but it’s probably one of the most important.

If you want change—truly, honestly, deeply, want change, then you have to follow through with action to match it. Words are meaningless without the behavior to back them up.

Dog owners are 50% of the equation when it comes to how successful a training program is

So if you are ready for things to change with your dog…start paying attention to your own behavior as well.

We power through the day just like any other. But it’s only to keep our minds off the pain. Every time we think of them, our hearts hurt a little more. This one hurt me deeply. Sweet Katie had not been herself for several days now, and they decided it best to lay her to rest.
We love all of our clients. We have personal connections with each of them. This one though, I wanted in my family when the shelter posted her on their page. If I had gone to the shelter, she would have been mine. Brain told heart that it wasn’t the right time. Within hours, I was delighted to see she won a wonderful home with great people who recently lost their Princess. She was still able to be in my family! We were blessed with 10 months with the BEST girl, and though grateful for our time, we are all heartbroken that time was cut short. Fly high beautiful girl. We will see you at the end of the rainbow. 🌈 🐾💔

It seems since the weather cooled down again that we aren’t seeing as many flea cases in the shop. We still are cleaning thoroughly and ask that your pets continue with monthly preventative but we are happy to see the number decreasing!

We are noticing an influx of fleas this season, several dogs have come in with them and we are doing our best to spray, and disinfect all of our equipment, kennels, tools and rugs. Please make sure that your pet is on a reputable flea and tick preventative so that they don’t suffer from flea dermatitis if they come in contact with fleas here or at home.

They reached out to us and we are happy to help! We’d love to see a full box when they pick up on October 30! 🩷🐾
