UPDATE: Parvo-like illness in dogs in northern Michigan.

There has been parvo-like illness in dogs in northern Michigan. The state veterinarian are working quickly to learn more about this illness. We will keep you updated as we learn more.

At this time, you can do the following things to help keep your dog safe:

- Make sure your dogs are current on their routine vaccinations

- Wait until your puppy is fully vaccinated before interacting with other animals

- Contact your veterinarian if your dog or puppy starts showing signs of illness and quarantine them away from other animals to prevent the spread of illness

- Clean up after your dog when walking in public and don’t allow your dog to come in contact with other animals’ f***l material
