Companion Cats Companion Cats is a 501(c)(3) non-profit run by volunteers that seek to find homes for unowned cats.

Once spayed our goal is to place them in an environment that best fits each cat. This method provides the most humane living situation possible. Both friendly and feral alike deserve the perfect forever home. If the cat is not very friendly but is homeless, perhaps this means being a “Barn Buddy” or being introduced into a controlled colony. If feral kittens are found, it might mean living in a vo

lunteer foster home where they can be socialized until old enough to be tested for FIV & FeLV, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Great information for people to be aware of when interacting with cats.

I see so many people get bitten because they didn't properly read a cat's body language and didn't approach correctly. Asking "consent" is such an important aspect of trust-building. Whether it's an unfamiliar cat or your own cat, don't just march up and assume kitty is always ready for your displays of affection. We all want to feel we have a choice.

In addition to all the other fantastic happenings of this weekend we were fortunate enough to have a new window donated and some kind hearted installers do the job at a discounted rate so that our front room now has some nice morning sunlight. Very grateful for the help and generous hearts of this community.
