I met Ryko when he was 5 weeks old. I had no intention of getting a puppy from his litter, but he stood out to me right away. I clearly remember seeing him, looking at Les, and exclaiming how gorgeous purple collar boy was! 😍 Every time I visited his litter, I would look for him right away. When Les suggested I take him home, I couldn't be more excited. He was MY pick and turned-out Les had picked him for me too! He was the dog I very badly needed, and he has been nothing but perfect for me. My first IGP3, FH1 dog. My forever best friend who has taught me so much about myself.
Last year, he almost drowned in front of me. When I pulled him out of the water we sat and held each other, just breathing, for what felt like forever. I had been so convinced that he would live forever, and I was reminded that he could be taken from me at any moment.
His 4th birthday is coming up, and I can't wait for the next 4 years with him. I have joked that he is semi-retired now that he achieved the titles we worked tirelessly towards for 3 years, but in all honesty, the fun has just begun!

This is Casa d'Agostini U Can't Kiss me "War Machine"
War is an import from Belgium, and he brings new blood to the USA, phenomenal working drive, and a clear head in his work. He is by far the highest caliber working dog that I have had the pleasure of handling. We expect for War to add the working drive and confidence that we hope to see in the long hair Dutch Shepherd someday.

"The Dutch Shepherd is intelligent, lively, and athletic. Standing at 21.5-24.5 inches, and weighing between 42-75 pounds, this breed was originally created as a herding dog.
The Dutch Shepherd was discovered as a naturally occurring shepherd's dog living in rural areas. It was developed as an all-purpose farm dog, working originally as a farm guard, drover, and livestock dog. Although it is not a widely known breed, the Dutch Shepherd is a loyal companion and competent working dog used for obedience, dog sports, herding, tracking, search and rescue, and as a police dog.
The coat can be a gold brindle or a silver brindle. There are also three coat types: short-hair, long-hair and rough-hair. The short-hair types will only need occasional brushing. Switch to daily brushing during the seasonal shedding periods in the Spring and Fall. The longhaired dogs will need to be groomed about once per week, or more often than that if their work level and environment requires it.
This breed does not want to be a pet left at home; they want to be your partner in life. Provided with proper mental and physical exercise, this dog makes a great pet for an active family familiar with dogs."

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by to check out my page!
The Dutch Shepherd has been my life's passion for almost 8 years. I have had the pleasure of following many breeders here in the US, as well as overseas for the last 6 years. My personal dogs train and compete in IGP and American Schutzhund, and we have dabbled in other sports like dock diving, barn hunt, lure coursing, and scent detection. Three dogs in our home are from a phenomenal breeder in Belgium, Elke Van Gils, who sold me my long hair female almost 3 years ago, and started this love for the long hair Dutch Shepherd that I can't seem to shake!
I have, almost obsessively, studied working Dutch Shepherd pedigrees, and I have spent the last two years working to put together this program. I do believe a good breeder takes their time to educate themselves, and to put together a plan before putting it into play, as well as making breeding decisions with their brain and not their heart. The dog's best interest should always be top priority.
I now have the next 5 to 7 years loosely planned, and hopefully I will reach my goal of a solid working line long hair, while also producing some solid working short hairs in the process.
Please join me in this journey with the hope that it will come to fruition!
