Happy National Rescue Dog Day!

Canine Good Citizen testing in the community and urban setting
The difference between a “wait” and a “stay”. Numi is “waiting” while Kiva is “staying”. I don’t care what Numi does as long as he doesn’t cross the open gate. Kiva is in a “sit stay” and must remain in that position until released. Very important for any dog to practice “waits” so they don’t think an open gate or door is an invitation to exit. Asking the dog to “sit” before exiting is not nessesary during their “waits”. You just want them to respect the threshold in ANY POSITION! Good to practice at doors, while in the vehicle, in their crates, and any and all gates.
Alro the car chaser is working on remaining calm as cars pass by.
Numi learning! Kiva helping!
