CAN YOU HELP?

The cold is taking its toll. Our dogs are out of the weather, but we're using (and washing/drying) many more kennel blankets than usual. 🚨 We have frigid temperatures upon us now through Wednesday, including high winds. If you have dogs that live outside, please consider bringing them INSIDE during this time.
If they absolutely MUST be outside, please see below.

Please be advised, adequate shelter is required by law as is potable water.

As stated in the graphic, short hair, underweight dogs and puppies cannot withstand extreme temperatures for prolonged periods. We urge you to bring them inside.

Jackson County has three trained Officers prepared to respond to pets in need. If you need assistance for your pets, please email the shelter. If you see pets in need, do not approach the owners, contact 911 with an address.

Folks the weather is dangerously cold and we are asking everyone to be the voice for those that have been left outside. See something say something!!! Pets need to be brought inside for the next couple of days during this Artic Air Alert.

Hello, Rue here asking everyone to please bring your pets inside. It is too cold out there, and frostbite can happen in a matter of minutes. Please call the police or animal contol if you see an animal out in these harsh conditions without the proper shelter to keep them from freezing. Remember, if it is too cold for you, then it is too cold for us! Please be sure to protect your livestock as well.

If you're interested in learning, practicing, and/or refreshing skills vital for Responsible Pet Owners everywhere, register for DSA's DEDICATED DOG PARENT virtual event by February 2nd.
This event, which runs the whole month of February, encourages participants to practice first aid and cooperative care skills, refresh reliable canine companion behaviors, and prepare for emergencies while building the trust relationship between you and your dog.
DSA membership is not required to participate in this event.

Hello everyone, it's Rue, many of you may not know that my mom and dad adopted me from Mitten Mutts Dog Rescue. This is a great way to help them raise money to help more fur babies like me get the necessary care and to find a loving home just like I have!
