Online rumors have falsely claimed that grooming shops sedate dogs. In reality, the only way a groomer could obtain sedatives would be through illegal means, such as a veterinarian providing them unlawfully. Dogs often appear tired after visiting the groomer due to the multitude of stimuli, including baths, dryers, and socialization with other dogs. Additionally, some salons utilize cages, which can be a new experience for dogs not crated at home. My own dogs, for instance, require rest after a day of accompanying me to work. Consequently, the notion of groomers sedating dogs is an urban myth, and any apparent tiredness can be attributed to the excitement of a spa day.

To mitigate the impact of frequent no-show appointments and last-minute cancellations, professional service providers have implemented policies that include fees for such instances. This policy adjustment is essential due to the high incidence of no-shows and inadequate communication, which poses significant risks to small businesses. We prioritize our clients' time and expect reciprocal consideration. Acknowledging that emergencies arise, timely communication is required. Widespread disregard for scheduled appointments necessitates cancellation policies across various professional services, such as our chiropractor and dentist who charge $35 and $50, respectively, for no-shows or last-minute cancellations. We will introduce a comparable policy aligned with industry standards, to be published shortly.

As you all know Kathleen Jo Sanchez has been part of The Barking Club staff for many years. Tragically, her small dog Donut was attacked thru the fence by another much larger dog. He needs a desperate surgery to either repair the crushed and broken bones or amutation. Otherwise the outlook is very grim. Please help in anyway you can. The amount we are trying to raise is only a fraction of actual vets bills that have pilled up.
