My momma told me she registered us for the Newfoundland National Specialty(Newf Nationals). I am so excited we will be able to see some of our friends. She said if we are lucky we'll get to see some Northern Lights. I am so excited!!!!

Today is my 10th birthday. In the Newfoundland world that makes me a Living Legend. I am still enjoying life to the fullest and in good health, especially for my age. I am not as fond of long or fast walks but mom still needs me some days. I have worked as her Medical Alert and Tasking Service Dog for just over 8 years. In that time I have traveled to 15 states, attending sporting events like drag racing, baseball games, festival, fairs, and my favorite car rallies. My favorite foods are whipped cream, and cheeseburgers. We have both slowed down a bit. Mom says her phone is full of pictures of me even though I do hot like my picture taken. Her are a few of her favorite.

I have had many adventures over the last near 10 years. Mom is thinking about trying to give me a top 10 year for my 10th birthday. Can my friends help her come up with a list of to dos for her? Give her ideas.

I got groomed today. I am clean sweet smelling and fluffy......I am also exhausted.

In my senior years things like this are getting harder on me. Mommy tries so hard to let me be just an old lazy girl but grooming has to happen. I am glad mommy is having a chill at home day so I can recuperate.

I want to take a minute to talk to you about dog rescue. I am a rescue. My late brother Jackson, brother Grizzly the Berner - BMD, late sister Bailey, neice Mars, and Auntie Cleo are all rescues. Every dog my momma has ever had has been a rescue. Yesterday we gathered at the NCA National Specialty to participate in the rescue parade. It highlights how amazing rescue dogs can be. Most of us come into rescue through no fault of our own. Some of us were neglected or abused, some of us were surrendered from puppy mills, and some of us our human fell on hard times or even died. Every one of the amazing dogs in this photo are rescues. A lot of us through the Michigan-Ohio NCA(Newfoundland Club of America) headed by Windy Reed. You can follow her at Life and Rescue with the Reeds. She does amazing stuff.

Please consider rescue if you want to add a dog to your life. If you NEED a puppy please go through a reputable breeder. Do a little homework to ensure you are not buying from a puppy mill. Did you know many puppy mills are operated by the Amish? If you don't know where to start often the American Kennel Club or AKC can help you find a great breeder.

If you ever find yourself unable to keep your pet(dogs, cats, etc.) PLEASE reach out to a rescue. They are here to help without judgement.

My mom decide she would give you a chance to see what my work days look like. This is me squeezed into a tiny public bathroom stall with mom. She left me home last year when she had surgery and in the middle of the night she fell off the toilet and broke her nose. I do a better job than a CNAs.

I wanted you all to know that it made my mom very happy that so many of you at the NCA National Specialty told me how beautiful you thought I was. Some people in the past have said mean things and this was such a positive thing for her. If you took any pictures of me we'd love to see them. Thanks for choosing kindness. Your dogs would be proud if you.

My niece Marlee is here. My mom's baby sitting her granddoggie while my human sister is in the hospital having a baby. She doesn't understand where her mama and daddy went. I gave her my lovie(she's using it as a pillow) and I'm sticking close to comfort her.

Mom and dad have spent the last 3 days working outside or in the garage. That has allowed Grizzly the Berner - BMD and I to spend a lot of time in the yard. I really hop this continues until I can catch that darn squirrel. 🐿

There are some puppies in need of help.....every single dollar can help. Can you help these girls?

The OG Mary Price called. The board has made their decision about Lucy and Lilly. After looking at the girl results, doing research and the veterinarians on the NCA board talked about things they have decided the girls will have SURGERY! 😭😭😭😭 Our friends at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine will be performing the girls surgery.

At this moment we do not have a date for surgery. OSU are looking at their books and will be fitting them in. Lucy will have her surgery first because of her issues being more serious. Then Lilly will have hers. This is a big relief. Being in limbo was stressful to say the least.

With all that being said we need YOUR help. We have started a fundraiser for the girls to help with the cost. SO PLEASE HELP US help Lucy and Lilly. We would like to express our gratitude to Newfoundland Club of America Charitable Trust for not giving up on these girls.

Merry Christmas every one. Can Santa please bring my mom a grandbaby? You'd think my mom would outgrow this, but 9 years later she is still making me pose for photos in hats. I hope she gets a grandbaby soon who likes this so I can retire. 😂

See mom's foot there in the middle....that's where I lay so I can alert while she is strength training. Notice it looks like I am praying? I am praying she does not drop a barbell on me.

9 years ago today this woman drove 4 hours to come meet me. I decided that meant she really needed a dog that could be her special companion. Since that day I have watched over her and loved her with everything I have. She tells me every night "I am the best dog ever." I don't know about that. I just hope we can be together forever.
