** Avian Flu has recently been identified in Harris county (a bird was tested by the department of State Health Services and tested positive for the Avian Flu)
** Avian flu can be transmitted to mammals
(Including humans)
** down below we have attached information sheets about Avian flu, how to prevent, symptoms, clinical signs, cleaning, and what to do if a deceased or sick bird is seen

If your pet experiences any of these signs or symptoms, please bring your animal to the clinic immediately to get an exam done by a doctor.
** As a reminder our clinic ONLY performs services on dogs and cats **

You should bring your pet in for urgent care if they are experiencing any of the following:

- Upset stomach (diarrhea or vomiting)

- Swollen or bloated belly

- Difficulty with bowel movements (constipation)

- Blood in urine or urinary issues

- Dehydration

- Itchy skin or unusual rashes

- Unexplained hair loss

- Limping or general discomfort

- Excessive scooting

- Eye or ear issues

- Pale or discolored gums

- Changes in appetite (eating too little or too much)

- Cuts, scrapes, and abrasions

- Pests like worms, fleas, ticks, or mites

- Ingesting toxins or harmful foods

Here are a few tips for this holiday to keep
your pets safe:
¤ Keep collars on
¤ Have up to date tags with phone numbers
¤ Use the appropriate and approved (by a veterinarian) sedatives for your pet.
¤Turn on the radio or TV to help with the noise
¤Keep your gates , doors and windows shut and locked
¤ Give your pet a safe space
¤keep your pets inside during fireworks
