Long read but YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Did you know that 🥚 from commercial production farms have chemicals on them? Yep! They are sprayed before leaving the factory with a CDC Biofilm Reactor that is made up of:

1. Sodium hypochlorite (bleach)

2. Sodium hydroxide (caustic soda)

3. Benzalkonium chloride (eye drop preservative)

The purpose is to kill salmonella. However, not only are they mostly ineffective, they are downright NOT HEALTHY, and can even be deadly to humans. (See attached explanation). The chemicals also wash off the natural protection against salmonella called the bloom. That’s why as soon as you get home, they have to go straight into the refrigerator.

UPDATE: Praise God! We got our power restored late yesterday! Now that the power is on, our water pump is working!

THANK YOU to everyone who came out and gave us fresh clean water! Because of y’all, we were able to water the animals thoroughly yesterday!

We had neighbors bringing chicken food, water, some dog food, and even some items to take care of us! So thankful! I hope everyone that got their eggs enjoys them!

Thanks again for everyone who helped. It’s time like these where us humans should work together, band together and be better! And boy did we! My prayer is that we carry this with us and make it a goal…always…good or bad times…happy or sad…we can work together and make a difference! ♥️

Good morning! I own a local farm, CK Farm and Rescue located in Baytown. I am still looking for someone to hire for a couple of hours each evening 6p-8p or so, - Monday - Friday. Not permanent and no benefits.

Must be comfortable with animals (chickens) and getting up close and personal with them - feeding, watering, cleaning pens, etc. start asap.

I love my chickens and everything that comes from them ( eggs)
However, I’m struggling to keep up with the everyday chores of cooking, cleaning, fitness and maintaining my home, so something has to give. They just take up too much of my time.
So, I am officially done in 2024 and I have decided to get rid of all my supplies.
