🚨 DOG HEAT STROKE & SHOCK PREVENTION — SUMMER SAFETY ALERT! 🚨
Let’s keep our pups cool, safe, and wagging all summer long! 🐶💧
☀️ When temps rise, so does the danger of heat stroke and heat shock in dogs. It can hit fast—and it can be fatal. Here’s what to watch for and how to protect your pup:
🔥 SIGNS OF HEAT STROKE:
🔹 Excessive panting or drooling
🔹 Bright red gums or tongue
🔹 Vomiting or diarrhea
🔹 Staggering or collapse
🔹 Dazed or unresponsive
💥 If untreated, heat stroke can lead to SHOCK and organ failure.
🚫 ASPHALT WARNING:
If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws! 🐾
🔥 Asphalt can reach 135°F+ and cause burns in seconds. Walk your dog in the grass, use booties, or go out during cooler parts of the day (early AM or after sunset).
✅ SUMMER SAFETY TIPS:
🐾 Provide shade & water at all times
🐾 Never leave dogs in a parked car—even for a minute
🐾 Limit playtime during the hottest hours
🐾 Use cooling vests, mats, or fans
🐾 Know your dog’s limits—especially brachycephalic breeds or seniors
🎒 Pro Tip: Keep a water bottle, collapsible bowl, and paw balm on hand!
💙 Love your dog? Learn the signs. Take action. Keep them safe.
If your pup shows any signs of heat stress—cool them immediately and call your vet!
Let’s make this a summer of tail wags, not ER visits. 🐕🦺🌊
