Although we have met a lot of intelligent dogs, we have yet to find one that can clean up after itself. Please clean up after your dog when visiting Barkwood in addition to our local parks and neighborhoods. Thank you! 🐾

Members, we regret to inform you that Barkwood will be temporarily closed due to a malfunction in the gate's locking mechanism, which requires the replacement of the locking device. We are currently working closely with our vendor to expedite the replacement process and will keep you updated on the progress.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time. Rest assured, we are committed to reopening the facility as soon as possible to resume normal operations.

With spring around the corner, comes lots of rainfall. Dog p**p is a contributor to many water-quality problems. When it rains, the runoff takes just about everything off the ground with it, including but not limited to lawn chemicals, litter, road salt, debris, cigarette butts and bacteria from dog p**p. Cleaning up after your pet is a simple way to help keep our neighborhoods, local waterways and Lake Erie clean. An average pile of doggie doo produces 3 billion f***l coliform bacteria. Dog droppings can also contain other bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella and Giardia. Dog p**p is not a fertilizer; doggies eat a high protein diet that results in highly acidic waste. PLEASE DO NOT drop your dog’s p**p into the storm drain. Most storm drains flow directly to local streams, NOT a wastewater treatment plant. Always take a bag with you (biodegradable preferred) on your walks and scoop that p**p! Just scoop it, bag it and throw it in the trash. That is the right do on the doo!

Barkwood members, the Public Works Department will begin to winterize the facility and turn off the water on November 1st. Additionally, the shade canopies will come down over the next few weeks.
