As some of our patients are already aware, the Save This Life Microchip company has unexpectedly shut down and unlinked its database from the national registries. Here at Beacon Veterinary Associates, we utilize Home Again microchips, but wanted to share information in an effort keep everyone well informed.

What You Need to Know:
The Save This Life microchips themselves remain safe and functional. However, due to their database shutdown, pet owners must take IMMEDIATE action to ensure their pet's microchip information is accessible.

What You Need to Do:
To prevent any issues if your pet ever goes missing, please re-register your pet’s microchip number as soon as possible at: www.freepetchipregistry.com.
This free registry is connected to the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool, ensuring your contact information is available when scanned.

If you do not re-register your pet’s microchip, there will be no way to retrieve your contact information should your pet become lost.

It’s also a good idea to double check your contact information connected to the microchip, to be sure it’s up-to-date.

It’s so nice to be appreciated. We recently helped a dear client say goodbye to her beloved boy Harvey. They visited us frequently as little Harvey wasn’t in the best of health when they united. But this client showered that little guy with love and comfort like none he had ever known before, and exhausted all avenues in an effort to sustain his health. We’re honored she entrusted us with his care, and greatly appreciated this very kind gesture.

This week is National Veterinary Technician’s Week and all of us at Beacon Veterinary Associates would like to take a moment to recognize the contributions of our Technicians. Vet Techs are vital to the day-to-day operations of our hospital, working in the operating room, dental suite, exam rooms, and our lab. Their technical and scientific knowledge, as well as their compassionate care, help our doctors focus on diagnosing and treating our patients. A great big THANK YOU to our Technicians, and our entire team, for all they do everyday! Your hard work is seen and appreciated!!
