Gracie update!! 💜🐾

We are home from the vet with a diagnosis of Vestibular Disease (essentially doggie vertigo).
Which causes dizziness, nausea and loss of balance.

This is something that will follow her through the rest of her life, but episodes tend to dramatically improve within 24 hours and 90-100% subside in about a week. (Flare ups tend to occur every 6-12 months)

We have been instructed to closely monitor her for the next 24 hours to ensure she continues to improve, and starting tomorrow, if she’s willing to eat, we can start her nausea medication, we are waiting on the results of her blood work to be 100% sure though.

Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers, she is comfortably resting in her bed and seems to be slowly coming back to. Please continue to pray that she keeps trending in this direction. My heart can’t take any other outcome. 💜🐾

If you could take a moment to pray for my heart and soul, our Gracie we would really appreciate it, she is taking an emergency trip to the vet later this morning as she is off balance and not eating. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for her given the timeline of our Stevie’s passing just a couple of months ago, I just can’t lose another family member so soon, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers if you’re the praying type, if you know our Gracie, you know she’s the sweetest soul to walk this earth. 😞🐾💜

And that’s 2 more fosters, another bonded pair at that A D O P T E D!! 🐾💜 I couldn’t be happier for these two, we will miss their silliness around here, but their mommy couldn’t be a better fit for them, these two are off to live their best life in the big city of DC after spending their time on our mini farm decompressing and learning how to just be dogs who are loved right. Cheers Sisi and Rett, to the forever home you’ve always deserved. Homeward Trails Animal Rescue 🍾🎉🥹
