***ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS*** Finally after several months of investigations the person claiming to be Megan raffles/Megan Sullivan on Facebook and stealing several peoples money including some of my members on her, HAS BEEN CAUGHT!!! A very courageous ,persistent, caring person who was scammed helped bring justice. Thank you!!! You know who you are ;) If anyone has been scammed by this person please contact law enforcement!
On September 15th, 2020 the Caseyville Police Department was notified by the Johnson City Tennessee Police Department that they had been investigating an internet scam involving the sale of dogs. A Detective had conducted an extensive investigation. The Detective forwarded his findings to the Caseyville Police Department after determining that the suspect lived in Caseyville.
On 9/29/2020 Detectives went to the residence of the suspect to attempt to take him into custody. The suspect refused to exit the residence. While waiting outside, the suspect called in a fraudulent 911 call for an armed robbery in progress. Detectives on scene determined that it came from the suspects phone number. The suspect eventually came out and was taken into custody.
On 10/1/2020 the States Attorneys Office Charged Darion Hayes of Caseyville, Illinois with the following offenses:
Two counts of Felony Theft Over $500, Class 3 Felony
One Count of Felony Disorderly Conduct, Class 4 Felony
One Count of Theft less than $500, Class A Misdemeanor
Darion Hayes bond has been set at $60,000
It has been determined through the investigation that there have been four victims of this scam from four different states including Illinois. Detectives are searching for additional victims.
