Agave Dogs Rescue

Agave Dogs Rescue Agave Dogs rescues adoptable shelter dogs and finds them loving homes in Oregon and Washington 🐾🐕💚 So we jumped into action and haven't stopped since.

Agave Dogs Rescue was founded in 2017 after seeing constant pleas on social media from shelters and rescuers in Texas and other Southern states for help with their dog overpopulation crisis. Dogs dumped on the side of the road, dogs minutes from euthanasia unless a rescue tagged them, dogs enduring years of hardship and neglect with owners who didn't or couldn't care for them. We knew the Pacific

Northwest had an extensive demographic of amazing dog lovers willing to offer homes and their hearts to dogs in need. Our Mission:
Agave Dogs rescues adoptable, homeless dogs from areas overwhelmed with pet overpopulation and finds them loving, permanent homes in Oregon and Washington. We assist dogs at risk for euthanasia in high kill shelters and strays found on the street by out of state rescuers. If you'd like to meet one of our dogs the first step is to fill out an adoption application so we can get to know you better. Ways to donate to support our rescue dogs...

Can you help this sweet trio of babies with their $402 emergency vet bill from yesterday? 🙈 Receipt in comments 🧾

Quest, Sonnet and Poetry arrived to us Friday evening and were having frequent liquid stools, vomiting, lethargy and disinterest in eating. We got them to the ER vet yesterday morning and thankfully their Parvovirus test came back negative. But they do have a terrible case of Coccidia. Each puppy received IV fluids and medication. They were discharged last night.

Firefox is reporting live from his first night in foster after being in a California shelter since September 2025! He’s loving being in a cozy home and out of a stressful shelter. He’s totally soaking it up!

Firefox’s owners moved away and left him behind at the home. He ended up at the shelter with zero adoption interest despite being a total ham 🧡

• 45 pounds and 5 years old •

Good with other dogs and fostered with a female dog. Enjoys kids ages 5+ years old in his foster home. Doesn’t know a stranger. Crate trained. Such a good boy!

Help sponsor Catfish’s $126 exam and health certificate so he can travel from California to Oregon tomorrow?

Catfish is a low rider puppy who landed in a crowded California shelter. Staff reached out and asked us to accept him into our adoption program to help make space at their facility. He just needs to get his health certificate from the vet today to travel tomorrow 🙏🏼

ADOPTED! This past weekend was go home day for our litter of four babies rescued out of a homeless situation in California. Brando, Giggle, Mosh and Joy are all off with new families who are ready to give them a new trajectory in life. These pups were cold, sick and dirty when they arrived to us and are doing so much better after vet care, yummy food, baths and a warm, safe place to sleep. We wish them the brightest futures with their amazing new families 🌟

Rebecca is one of our shy but stunning sweeties awaiting a home. She has been learning to walk on leash, live inside a home, go on car rides, play with toys and other dogs and just settle into the flow of her foster home 🩵

• 17 pounds and approximately 2 years old •

Good with other dogs and cats, excellent potty habits and comfortable in a crate. Rebecca will need an adopter willing to work with a shy dog and help bolster her confidence and learn the world is safe. She’s extremely good motivated which can really help with training.

ADOPTED! Sharon was found as a skinny, stray 3 month old puppy with a plastic bag tied around her head in California. A Good Samaritan took her in, nursed her back to health and gave her a stable, loving foster home for the next few months.

When no adoption options turned up, we decided to bring Sharon to our program to give her a better chance at gaining a loving family and a home of her own. She met these wonderful adopters and we are so grateful they gave shy, sweet Sharon a chance. Happy next chapter Sharon! 💟

ADOPTED! Finesse’s owner was navigating homelessness in California and had three dogs in their care. They chose to trust rescue placement for Finesse so she could have a safer and more stable future. At just 7 pounds, Finesse was so tiny and really benefited from being in a calm, warm home. Finesse met her new mom recently and was so happy to join a cozy home with a new doggie sibling. Best wishes Finesse! 💖

ADOPTED! Rumi was in a California shelter, pregnant and at risk for euthanasia- yes, even small dogs are being put to sleep. One of our amazing rescue partners went to meet Rumi and took her home to foster. It was our pleasure to bring sweet Rumi up to Oregon for a better chance at a good home. This wonderful family scooped Rumi up and she now has her own little sweater wardrobe and a kitty cat friend to play with. Happy new life Rumi! ❤️

Melbourne is so typical of many of the small breed dogs we get in: reserved with strangers, shy and pretty lovingly bonded to their “safe people” - the foster parent.

We always try to reassure potential adopters, that even though a dog is shy at a meet and greet, maybe not even comfortable with petting yet, they will definitely blossom in your home usually within a week or two. Melbourne really does like to connect with her person 💕

Melbourne is absolutely adorable and so smart! 17 pounds, 2 years old, good with other dogs and cats, crate trained, loves to cuddle in bed and on the couch. Doing great with potty habits and building confidence with her leash walking skills.

Isn’t Giggle stunning?! 🤩

This little girl was rescued out of a homeless situation in California when her owner sought help for the litter.

Giggle is cozy in a foster home with a full belly, a warm lap, soft bed and lots of enrichment and socialization. She is on the calmer temperament side and loves interacting with the little boy in her foster home 💗

Giggle will be 8 weeks old on January 11th and can go home with a new family on that day. She can be met in her foster home in the meantime. Currently, she weighs just under 4 pounds.

Likely a bully breed mix who will mature to around 50 pounds.
