We saw Flora at Fresno Humane Animal Services and couldn’t shake how sweet she looked. She was skin and bones. Flora had a litter of puppies and another rescue took them and left poor Flora behind 😔

Vet care is our most impactful cost in rescue currently and it’s where we need the most support 💸💸💸

Drifter, Streusel and Carmen are three, 6 month old puppies found dumped in a rural orchard area in California. We see these stories on repeat from our rescue partner in the area who regularly save the orchard dogs 🥺

This trio is small at just 20 pounds each and will likely mature to no more than 30 pounds - likely less. They are such a nice size!

Drifter is the male with the dark eyes. His sister, Streusel has more white on her muzzle and his other sister is Carmen, the lighter red in the first photo.

These sweet siblings arrive to us on December 15th and will go into foster in Portland, Oregon. Spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. They are eager for caring homes! 💜

Arriving December 15th! 💚🐾

Atticus is a stunning male Doberman rescued out of Fresno, California who landed in the shelter there emaciated after being on his own for weeks prior.

Atticus is estimated to be around 5 years old and 70 pounds. He did excellent in a play group with large female dogs at the shelter! We have not seen him with male dogs, small dogs or cats. Atticus is a medium energy Doberman who adores people. He’s also crate trained. Neutered.

Atticus will be fostered in Beaverton, Oregon

Adopted! Catalina came to us from California 2 years ago after she was trapped by our rescue partner Bowe's Animal Rescue. Poor girl was in terrible shape with a large gash in her chest and riddled with BBs from being shot. Catalina was adopted back then but recently came back to us when her family needed to return both of their dogs to rescue.

Fortunately, Catalina landed with an amazing new family who are very dedicated to giving her a wonderful next chapter. We are so happy for Catalina and her new people who adore her 💛

ADOPTED! Suki traveled a long way to us from Oklahoma where she was found dumped with her littermate by a rescue partner. They got both pups safely into their foster program then up to us in Oregon for a better chance at a loving home. Suki met her new mom who had been looking for the right doggie match for a while and it was love 💕 Happy new life Suki!

ADOPTED! Jess came to us by way of our rescue partner in Oklahoma. The shortage of homes there for even puppies is startling and Jess stood a much better chance of adoption in Oregon. Jess met her new mom soon after arrival and they were over the moon for each other. Best wishes Jess! ✨

Today is a rare and fleeting moment in our rescue - we adopted out our last dog in foster! We currently have no dogs in our care or posted on our website until this next group pictured below arrives to us from California on December 15th ❤️

The four very young pups pictured still need to remain with their mom until they are 8 weeks old in early January.

Jack Frost is a little 22 pound, 2 year old pup that was a stray in California needing some help. Our partners at Bowe's Animal Rescue took Jack Frost in so he didn’t have to serve his stray hold at the maxed out shelter. No owner came to claim him.

Jack Frost is a happy, friendly boy who is good with other dogs and he even did well meeting Santa and the Grinch 🎅🏻🎄

Jack Frost will be fostered in Portland, Oregon and is eager to find a loving home!

ADOPTED! We had a litter of four sweet Oklahoma pups arrive to us a couple weeks ago in the hopes of finding families that would cherish them. There is such an overpopulation problem in Oklahoma and not enough homes. All four of these sweetheart puppies are now off with their new owners and have a wonderful fresh start to life. Best wishes to R***r, Brandi, Drake and Carmie! 💙🩷💚💜

ADOPTED! Little puppy, Dezi, came to us after her and her sister were found abandoned in Oklahoma by a rescue there. Dezi came to Oregon for a better chance at finding a caring home and she hit the jackpot when her foster family decided to adopt her! Congratulations to Dezi and thank you to her foster parents for giving her the very best new life 🥳

ADOPTED! Annaliese was a stray dragging a leash who had been spotted and posted on social media multiple times in a California community. She was matted and dirty. No owner responded to claim Annaliese during her stray hold. We were able to bring Annaliese up to Oregon with the help of Bowe's Animal Rescue and now she has a new mom and doggie brother to love her. Happy new life Annaliese! 💟

Agave Dogs rescues adoptable, homeless dogs from areas overwhelmed with pet overpopulation and finds them loving, permanent homes near Portland, Oregon. We assist dogs at risk for euthanasia in California shelters and who have been abandoned on the streets. We also try to help owner surrender dogs in Oregon and out of crowded Oregon shelters. We have saved over 1,300+ dogs since we became a nonprofit in 2018.
