Snap, call or text 608-636-0191 to schedule a drop off, and let us save you the $50 dollars and extra trip to the processor by bringing your deer here first for us to cape. Turnaround for shoulders are currently 9 months. Good luck hunters!

Celebrating a week late, but

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY Big Earth Taxidermy!

What a ride the last six years have been! From hitting the ground running in 2018, and quickly excelling due to our years of artistic training, to officially owning the business in September of 2020! Now in 2023, we have hit three years of ownership, and look forward to many more! We are so thankful to be where we are now.

To celebrate settling into our permanent location in our home, and reducing our turnaround time this season to only 9 months, our next step is getting back to social media! We have been tirelessly working behind the scenes instead of spending time online, and we know that our past, current, and future customers have missed seeing pictures of our finished work.

We are making it a goal to start sharing our work online again so that you all can see some of the great animals harvested, and how we have been honored with the task of bringing them back to life.

We are open for the 2022 nine day gun season!

Please call or text to let us know you are on your way. All nine days, excluding Thanksgiving, we will be accepting drop-offs between 8 am-8pm. Thanksgiving we will be home, but please call/text ahead for availability.

Donated capes are appreciated! $50 off European Skull Mount with every usable cape. Turnaround time for Skulls are 90 days, and 9 months for Shoulder Mounts & Pack Mounts.

Allison is running intake while Amanda is mounting/finishing 2021 mounts. She is back to full-time, and her ankle injury only delayed turnaround time by about 30 days. We have so many things to be thankful for this season.

Hello all,

We are so ecstatic to finally be down to single digits for the past turnaround-time work after the curveballs thrown since 2020. We haven't been nearly as active on social media due to working day and night to get as many mounts done as possible, at the high-quality result we promise, and that our loyal customers deserve. We thank you again and again for your patience with our small business over these past few seasons.

Unfortunately, this week, our co-owner and mammal taxidermist, Amanda, double fractured her ankle and is undergoing surgery. She will be using a knee scooter as soon as she is able and will continue mounting and finishing all mammal work while it is healing for 4-6 weeks. No one wants to work more, continue to catch up, and make every customer happy as much as Amanda does, and she is committed to balancing getting back to work and healing at the same time. If you are still waiting on taxidermy work that has exceeded the initial turnaround time- we guarantee that your form is in our possession, or ordered and on its way, whether it be a fish replica, shoulder mount, or life-size mammal. I, Allison, am continuously working on birds, skulls, and everything else in between.

Life is funny, and ironic, sometimes- this comes around the same time that we are due to move the business into its final location, the left side of our new residence, at the end of August. We will still be accomplishing that, with probably just a little bit of extra help, and will update everyone of that change when it comes. We are so excited to also reveal our new name and logo at that time. This has been a journey that we are grateful to be on. While this does not halt our progress towards being fully caught up and then on-time with all of 2022 work, we do ask for just a few more weeks of patience, faith, and understanding as we get closer to the finish line, and to the light at the end of the tunnel.

We are really excited about our new location and drop off process for 2021!

Why should the Taxidermist be your first stop?
Because…
We offer free CWD testing for our customers.
We guarantee that your deer will be caped out properly for free, then marked as yours and immediately frozen. During the caping process, you can pick out your form position and get your invoice started…then you are off to your favorite meat processor.

If you do choose to have the meat processor cape your deer, please give us a call or stop by our office to go over the details. We still offer free pickup from the processor for heads and capes, and we advise that you contact us immediately so we can get you on our schedule. We want your final product to look amazing, and we are dedicated to making the process easy and hassle free.

With the lag time in receiving supplies from the pandemic and the move, we are still working on projects from the prior hunting season. Please be assured that your project is top priority, and we will contact you as soon as it is ready for pick up. Thank you so much for your understanding.

We moved!!
Exciting things are happening at Outdoor Addiction Taxidermy. Since we purchased the taxidermy business last September, your loyal support has helped us grow, and now we need more space to serve you. Our permanent space is not move in ready, so we relocated to a customer friendly location on August 31st. Our temporary location will help us refine our work processes and improve your customer experience. We are excited to be on the street level, so we can greet you at the door; and we are only 2.7 miles West of our prior location. We value your business and look forward to continuing to serve you from our new temporary location until the Grand Opening of our permanent store in 2022.

The first step to completing a beautiful taxidermy mount is properly caping it out. When we started our careers in this business we decided that we really didn't want to skin any animals. Well, we soon discovered that every part of the process is extremely important. I've found that it helps you to become closer to the animal and truly appreciate it in its entirety. 500 deer later after 3 years we've got it down.
