Someone called my attention to this post from July.....We have sloooooowed down. Donations became stagnant.
We will be seeing these last community cat commitments through for January and February. I don't know if we will ever be back at this level of helping so many community cats 🤷 Our economy doesn't foster actual living wages that offer the "luxury" of helping non-profit organizations like us. Many people have made big sacrifices to help fund our efforts. I knew it wasn't sustainable.

After we get Darlene laid to rest, I will take a look at how we can get a fundraising team together. In the end, your voice and our value, is measured by community donations. If you want us to continue the efforts, you will fund the work.

My Mother-in-law, Darlene Tuccinard, went home to her Lord and Savior last night. Things have been on a soft hiatus with the rescue, while we have cared for her at her home.
We will be on a brief hiatus while my family tends to all of the unpleasantness that comes along with losing such a precious loved one. Seeing this all through until she is laid to rest.
Your prayers for our family will be greatly appreciated.

I'm sitting here sipping my coffee from THE most special coffee mug. You already know who bought it for me. I will miss her deeply....so many people will miss her presence in this world.

My one piece of advice....Love them while they are here. Time is swiftly ticking by for us all.

We got all set up yesterday in Freedom for another kitty that is coming inside. The feeder is going to provide a forever indoor loving home.
We're using the customized trap from Teresa's husband's idea, all enclosed inside with cardboard and still fully functional.
A young orange tabby will be inside soon .. and we'll have update photos.

A cardboard box is improvising as an enclosed bed....I showed up with a teepee that was actually a fluffy bed when we opened it.

Every family that has pets understands the costs associated with making sure their loved ones have the proper food. If you are feeding a male cat, please do not wait to have him neutered. Every second he is out there is a HUGE risk. Unneutered male cats fight. I don't care how sweet you think he is. All of them fight - it's their nature. And it's the way the most severe feline diseases are spread. You can prevent this before it happens! And, you can prevent a lot of new kittens being born outside to suffer in the harsh environment.

Don't wait for him to show up injured!
Don't wait for the weather to get warmer.
Don't wait because "he can't have kittens".
Don't wait because "you'll do it later".
Don't wait to earn his trust more.
Don't wait for him to contract deadly diseases.

Don't wait.

Thinking about selling my pristine 1984 Fiero last year. I get reports that she travels all over. Sometimes I miss her...so fun to drive. I had to make a choice...the cats won. I couldn't really haul cats around in a 2 seat sports car. Now I have a 14 year old Nissan Rogue. Not fun to drive...but practical.
