Lollipop gets a bath from her friend Izzy
Today marks the beginning of National Pet Week. In celebration of your pets, share a video, pic or post describing how your pet has made your COVID quarantine more bearable.
Dr. Maro shared this video of her cat Izzy, cleaning the face of her 14 year old dog, Lollipop who had a stroke last December. Their sweetness towards one another brought a flood of warmth, after her 12 hour day of treating sick patients.
Pet owners: This is what a curbside visit/consultation looks like. Dr. Maro has already examined the pet owned by the woman in the pickup truck, and she is discussing the pet's condition, an ACL tear, and the recommended treatment. Everything that happened with the pet's exam follows the same procedures we do the in the exam, in addition to our staff wearing masks, gloves and caps, and we are disinfecting everything we touch. A technician provides an estimate and the staff facilitates payment, so you can stay in your vehicle.
This little “chicken nugget” is named Leo and he is a 9 week old Micro Mini Golden Doodle.
His owner is getting him off to a great start with a reduced immunization schedule, good nutrition and his first spinal adjustment at an early age! Spinal adjustments are especially important when you have regular wood, tile or linoleum flooring for animals at any age.
We also did a little bit of physical therapy to help with back leg development.
How sweet is this little boy! ❤️
Pippa Treadmill
Meet Pippa! A 2-year old German Shepherd who came to Dr. Alyssa Carver for physical rehabilitation. She had a moderate amount of muscle atrophy due to a partial ACL tear as well as muscle spasms in her right hind limb. Dr. Carver’s treatment plan included laser therapy sessions, underwater treadmill, at home exercises and physical rehabilitation. By the end of her 8 week session, Pippa’s leg regained strength, muscle and mobility! Pippa returned to normal activity and continues to participate in the Mondio Ring and obedience competitions with her owner.
Check out Pippa regaining leg strength in the underwater treadmill!
Check out Dax and the improvements he's made with integrative care. He is a 14+ year old, very loved dog patient who visited us with an adrenal gland and lung cancer, and paralysis/paresis of the rear legs. Over the past 10 weeks, Dr. Maro, Dr. Brown and our amazing support team have helped Dax regain full use of his back legs, have improved energy and strength. Even his thinning coat has improved.
Check out Peanut, an 11 year yellow Labrador, who could barely walk a year ago. She was not able to go up and down stairs or get up on the bed. After receiving physical therapy and acupuncture, her mobility improved and her pain level decreased. In order to ensure sustained improvement without frequent visits, Dr. Maro recommended stem-cell therapy and PRP. Peanut underwent her therapy with our team at the Cranberry Holistic Pet Care in December of 2017 and is now able to go on walks, go up and down steps, and get up onto the bed without assistance. Here she is, visiting us the other day for maintenance chiropractic care. Go Peanut!
Check out Beau, one of our Stem Cell Therapy success cases! He had Stem Cell and PRP therapy, made from his own fat cells and injected by Dr. Maro, a few weeks ago. His owner says he is having a great response; arthritis signs have decreased. He is standing taller and having improved strength. To find out how Stem cell and PRP therapy can help your pet, call today to schedule an appointment.

Is your pet an athlete, either in a sport like like dock diving, flyball or agility, or an athlete in your own yard? If so, he needs regular adjustments, winter conditioning and sometimes rehab care for injuries. We can help with all those essentials. Contact us and request a musculoskeletal or rehab exam. Be sure to share with all the k-9 (and feline) athlete enthusiasts you know.
Check out Peanut, a patient with hip dysplasia and ACL tears, as she gets her swim therapy. Not only is she a rehab star, walking without a limp after several weeks of acupuncture, but she shocked her owner by overcoming her fear of water and is rebuilding muscle.
Hasbro, a 10.5 year old Golden Retriever, ate a hambone in July and became quite ill. He went to am emergency center and was diagnosed with gastritis, arthritis, cancer and Lyme disease, and his owner was advised to euthanize. Since using integrative medicine, Hasbro is in remission with all his conditions and his arthritis has improved. When you hear the word cancer, look for other options. Hasbro's owners are glad they did!
Check out Beau, a Bichon patient. Three weeks ago, he could hardly walk. Dr. Maro performed prolotherapy on his spine, hips, and knees. He not only walks well, but is able to climb steps and get on furniture without assistance. Go Beau!
Buster, a patient of Dr. Maro's, has had a change in his bark and increasingly loud respiratory sounds. He will be tested for laryngeal hemiplegia. If your pet develops a change in breathing and bark, discoloration of his tongue, heat or exercise intolerance, call our office. He may be suffering from one of many respiratory or heart disorders which include laryngeal hemiplegia or paralysis. We provide testing and treatment for this condition, including non-surgical alternatives.
Hasbro, a 10 year old Golden Retriever, was quite ill 3 weeks ago. His owner's visited their local vet who diagnosed a large abdominal tumor, at risk of rupturing and referred him to a specialist. After several tests, his owners were told that Hasbro was suffering and humane euthanasia was their only option. Another client suggested they see Dr. Maro. Hasbro has received several acupuncture treatments and alternative oncology treatment. He is now feeling great, walking better and acting 2 years younger.

Happy story about "Angel", the stray cat that we had posted pictures of while she was being treated for head trauma she received after being hit by a car a few months ago. We didn't know it at the time, but she was in the early stages of pregnancy. Dr. Maro treated her with acupuncture and alternative medicine, which allowed the litter to develop to full term without defects. The litter have become so famous they already have owners waiting for them!
Laci is a great patient. Watch as she receives myofascial therapy.
