Job Responsibilities:
🌿 Turn in/turn out
🌿 Blanketing or Fly Gear
🌿 Feeding including replenishing hay in stalls

🌿 Ensure all gates and doors are closed and locked before the end of the shift

⚠️ Health Alert ⚠️
Potomac Horse Fever cases are being reported in our area. Due to the cases we have been seeing, we are recommending giving the PHF boosters early this year. If it has been at least three months since your horse last received a PHF vaccine, they can receive a booster at any point now. (You would not need a third booster.) Please call the clinic if you are interested in scheduling a booster appointment.

Remember, Potomac Horse Fever is not contagious from horse to horse contact but it is important to keep water and food sources cleaned regularly. It is recommended to try to minimize the exposure to infected insects by turning off stable lights at night in high risk areas. We also recommend that you familiarize yourself with the signs and symptoms and let us know if you have any concerns.

Many horses are injury-prone and as owners, trainers, and riders, we are constantly looking for ways to avoid incidents that may lead to down-time. Whether your goal is to produce a high-level athlete or a trustworthy companion, our mission at Willow Brooke is to provide a safe environment for our local equine community where you can perform at the level you're comfortable at. This vision evolved into our all-weather outdoor arena featuring fiber-blend footing and unique drainage system so it's always available for you - rain or shine.

Gracie’s first PEMF session with Cait from Freedoms Pulse LLC at our demo today!

This mare has been with us since the very beginning - over two decades! At just 25 years young, she has taught all of our kids how to ride including several others who were new to the world of horses.

When you have a horse around for as long as we have had Gracie, you think you know everything about them. Today, Cait gave us the opportunity to learn more about her and some of the discomfort she is feeling now that she’s older. Having this knowledge, now we know how we can better help her in this stage of her life - and it looks like PEMF sessions will be apart of that process!

It’s been such a neat experience to see how all of our horses react to pulse electromagnetic therapy. We learned today Gracie is a “napper”. Sleepy eyes and lip twitches. Thank you, Cait for coming out and sharing your knowledge and experience with us. The days are getting longer and we are hopeful for warmer weather in the coming weeks. As we inch closer to spring, we wanted to re-introduce our services here at Willow Brooke.

Outdoor Arena Rental:

Our signature arena professionally designed by Diamond W features an all-weather, custom fiber blend footing and unique drainage system so everyday is a great day to ride! Your options are limitless: weekend clinics, multiple horse training sessions, weekly lessons with your own instructor, prepping for show season, or a casual ride with friends. Starting at $25 per rider/horse (hourly).

Beginner & Intermediate Level Riding Programs:

Whether you are an adult or child amateur, there is a program here for you! We offer private to semi-private options in 30 or 60 minute sessions. Our programs focus on centered riding in the English discipline including horse care and handling with safety (and fun!) as our priority. $45 per student (hourly). Ask us about our program packages!

Full Care Board:

Although we currently do not have availability at this time, we are happy to put you and your horse on our waitlist! We have a seven stall contemporary barn with growing pastures featuring Centaur Cen-Flex railing. Our facility includes 12x12 rubber mat stalls with automatic waterers and mounted fans, a hot/cold indoor wash stall, individual tack lockers, hacking trails, and access to your own farrier & vet. Minutes away from Woodside Equine Clinic and Randolph-Macon College.

Spring is on its way! Need a reason to get outside and enjoy this warm weather? Let us give you one!

Riding lessons are starting this week Monday through Friday 9 am to sunset! If you have been wanting to learn more about horses - we are to help you with the introduction. We welcome beginner through intermediate riders focusing on English riding, horse care, and handling.

We have a package available for 6 one-hour riding lessons for just a total of $250! This package allows you to learn the basics and strengthen your skills in a 12-week period. These lessons are available in private or semi-private sessions.
