Wow, Incredible Water Rescue!
Wow, check out this incredible water rescue from our partner (Pokey’s rescue) Free State Four Paws, Inc.!
When puppies were heard howling in distress on Smith Lake, foster Celi wasted no time, grabbing her kayak and locating the little puppy calling for help
It turns out, a mom and her litter of puppies were abandoned at the lakeside. A search is still underway for mom and one puppy but the other puppies have also been located and reunited.
This is what a shelterless county looks like- when there is no taxpayer funded shelter, the responsibility is left up to the private citizen. The small team of women and men who make up the Free State Four Paws Rescue are doing it all-
-trapping
-treating/rehabilitating
-spay/neuter, vaccinations
-return-to-owner
-education
And so much more…
And they do it all on donations. No big grants. No paid salaries. No tax dollar allocations.
At Mutts, we believe every American city should have a taxpayer funded shelter operation. That is not a reality in Winston County.

As we look back at the monumental achievement of opening our first coffeeshop, we have you all to thank.
When we started our roasting company at the tail end of 2020, grew our brand in 2021, and signed our commercial lease on Angel at the beginning of 2022, we never did so with the backing of banks or investors
Our customers, followers, family, and friends have always been our investors, since day one
A look back at this year in our final moments crossing the finish line and they were not without the peaks and valleys of triumphs and losses- this has been a hard year on us personally with a lot of personal loss
We hold the ones not here with us today close to our hearts as they would have been so proud of everything Mutts has become- some of our earliest supporters and cheerleaders
As we move forward, we remain positive that we can continue to grow this little company into something for everyone-whether you come through our doors because you connect with our message, want to explore an eclectic space filled with dog art and plants, have a profound love for companion animals, enjoy the quietness of Angel ave. or the convenience of our location, enjoy our menu items that offer something for everyone, or simply love our coffee and like being able to connect with Mark who roasts every batch of it, you will be warmly welcomed
It’s not easy setting up a new business in today’s climate. Especially when you are a coffee company among one of the most talented coffee capitals of the world.
