Kalsang is recovering well from her FHO prodecure! She isn't a fan of having her surgery leg manually stretched into extension, and because I need to keep my fingers 😅, we compromise and she does most of her hip extensions utilizing the Fitbone and lots of cookies.

Tucker 💔
All good dogs eventually leave us with shattered hearts but mine wasn't ready for this one.
Not only was Tucker a super cool dude, his people were equally as amazing. His mama is a bit of a local celebrity but one of the most genuinly kind humans I have ever met. Her and Tucker shared 7+ years together before marraiage and babies shook things up but Tucker still had her heart. Tucker still meant the world to her and she did everything possible to keep him happy and healthy.
I first met Tucker 2 years ago, shortly after he had his right rear leg amupted due to a cancerous mass. He took to life on 3 legs like a champ, and was back to playing with his human brothers, going to doggie day care and long strolls in Sun River.
Tucker and I had our sessions just the two of, usually in the kid's playroom and usually with the faint sounds of a busy household rushing around outside but Tucker enjoyed every second of his quiet massage time. We always started with me scratching all the areas he no longer could due to his amputation before he drifted off to sleep. We always ended things with me whispering " all done sweet boy" and him thanking me with big tail thumps on the floor before he stretched and was back on 3 feet and ready for his next adventure.

My buddy, Tucker could use some love sent his way. He is currently waiting to have emergency surgery to remove a large splenic mass. Splenic masses generally have a good chance of being benign, but given Tucker’s history of cancer and the vet’s assessment, the odds are not in his favor.
Prayers, positive thoughts and good juju are all appreciated! ❤️

Any bodywork practitioner will tell you that their own body mechanics play a huge role in their ability to provide a therapeutic experience for their clients. With that in mind, I will be utilizing the massage table in the studio and for events, espcially for my smaller clients to aid in comfort for them and for me!
I don't know how many picture I have on my phone of Samson's head tilt but what I do know is that I pay extra to apple every month so I have storage for all of them and more 😉
Revive is excited to announce that we have joined , a 501(C)(3) nonprofit, in their efforts to extend the life of gently used and new pet supplies to prevent waste. I will soon have a collection bin in the studio and I will happily pick up items during in-home appointments too!
I got to meet this sweet little guy yesterday. His new family found him a couple of weeks ago while on vacation near Lake Tahoe. He was starving, scared and searching for safety. With no microchip and no space in shelters, he was lucky to be found by two hearts of gold who brought him home to Portland to live out the rest of his days with a full belly, veterinary care, a comfortable bed and a very loving family. He is one very lucky dog 🐾
I don't usually encourage toys during massage time but in Sydney's case, her ball helps to keep her relaxed so i make an exception 💛

Despite dealing with some back pain and then getting a little too fresh with a 🐝 I had the best time at the vineyard. It was great to see and finally meet . I can’t wait for the next event at the winery.
Monthly maintenance massage with miss . This lady is one of the sweestest and easygoing shepherds I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Don't let that fool you, she still has plenty of sass and drive! I'm thankful to have been seeing her for almost 4 years now and l look forward to many more sessions ahead.
🤍Winston recently started massage therapy to help relieve some tension and reduce some of his anxiety. His mama will tell you that he has some big feelings and sometimes has big feels toward things you wouldn't think would cause such a strong response. That makes it challenging to reduce triggers. It will likely take several session to see if massage is helping to relieve some of that tension and helping him to feel more comfortable in his own body. I'm hopeful that massage will be a great addition to all the training and conditioning his people are already working so hard at!

Cost: $60
By the end of class pet parents will:
🐾 Have a good understanding of basic dog muscle and joint anatomy and function
🐾 Understand when massage is appropriate and when to avoid it
🐾 Have tools to assess changes in their dog's muscle and joint health
🐾 Know a handleful of gentle massage techniques
🐾 Be able to provide their dog a relaxing wellness massage
Requirements:
👉 You and your dog must be comfortable being 6 ft from other dogs and pet parents.
👉 Your dog must be in good physical health (no recent injury or illness)
👉 $30 nonrefundable deposit
👉 You should be comfortable sitting on the floor with your dog during the duration of class.

Little Jojo had a great first session!
This little nugget recently started massage therapy to help manage discomfort due to luxating patellas. Her mama reports that Jojo was moving much more comfortably on her nightly walk after just one session.

You do not need to spend a lot of money to do at home exercises with your dog! You really don't need to spend any money but it is nice to have a few key pieces of equipment to make it a easier and little more fun!
Everything pictured cost me less than $45 in total!
⭐️The crib mattess is great for "mattress walking" or mimicking walking on an uneven surface.
⭐️The traffic cones are great for circles, weaves and figure 8s. They also make good barriers if you are working on "back up" or walking backwards.
⭐️The fit bone, discs and domes are great for several different exercies, including elelvated cookie stretches, pivots, puppy push-ups, obstacle course and so much more.

I love taking videos of my dogs while we are out to analyze their gait and movement and also their behavior. I remember taking this video and thinking “Sheesh Em, that was a little rough.” But when I got home and watched it, I realized I should probably give Cicely (really both of them) a once over. Cic was a little tight and sore in her neck and shoulders but overall seems to be doing fine after that blow. I’d love to hear what my dog training peeps think about this….was Em being a bully?
