Cooling Off Horses in the Summer Heat
Welcome to another #๐ง๐๐ฒ๐๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ง๐ฟ๐ผ๐, where we share the latest happenings at Forward Stride. With temperatures soaring over 100 degrees this weekend and continuing today, keeping our horses cool and comfortable is a top priority. ๐ด๐ฅ

Today, Liz is on lunch shift duty, hosing off Panache and making sure he stays cool and refreshed.
Hosing off the horses helps lower their body temperatures and provides them with some relief from the hot temperatures. Along with plenty of fresh water and shaded areas, this routine ensures our horses stay safe during these hot summer days.

Behind-the-Scenes of Our New EAP Arena
๐ Happy #๐ง๐๐ฒ๐๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ง๐ฟ๐ผ๐, everyone! Today, we're excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at an exciting new project at Forward Stride. Our dedicated staff is hard at work building a brand-new arena for our Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) sessions. ๐ดโจ
During the hot summer months, we utilize a lot of morning and evening times for lessons, making our arenas pretty busy. This new arena will provide a peaceful and private setting, ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ง๐ฆ๐ค๐ต ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ช๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ต๐ข๐ฏ๐ต ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฌ ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ถ๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐๐.
๐จ It's still a work in progress, but today we went from no fencing to a fully fenced enclosure, complete with a gate and rubber mats in the shelter!

Cleaning out Tansy with Leanna

๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ฎ is an essential part of the Forward Stride team and works tirelessly to ensure our facility is in top shape! Today, you can find her out in the pastures, cleaning out tansy to keep our horses safe and healthy.
Tansy, a common weed, may look harmless with its bright yellow flowers, but it's actually quite dangerous for horses. When ingested, tansy can cause liver damage and other serious health issues. That's why Leanna's work is so crucial โ by removing tansy from the pastures, she's ensuring a safer environment for our beloved equines.
