Head trainer and owner, Arcina Rondeau, has been working with dogs professionally since 2006 and found her passion for dogs at an early age. She started her dog training career in Denver, Colorado in 2008 where she attended a dog training academy and fell in love with helping people and their pets. In 2009, she got her first Belgian Malinois and delved into the world of Personal Protection & Prote

ction Sport Training. Arcina also volunteered with Colorado Puppy Rescue from 2007-2009 as well as Denver Dumb Friends League Animal Shelter in Denver, Colorado helping rehabilitate and foster dogs. After moving to Portland, Oregon in 2012 to pursue academics at Portland State University, she gained more experience working with a variety of dogs in grooming while also offering training services to clients. After tiring of working with naughty dogs in grooming, she took a position with a training corporation as a Lead Dog Trainer to be able to work full time helping people and their pets. During her time working under a corporation, it became clear that starting her own business was the right move, providing more freedom to customize training to each dog & owner. As the Owner & Head trainer at Heel Works, Arcina custom fits training to each client's dog, lifestyle and goals. She believes that it's important to consider all variables when training, taking your dogs personality into account when constructing a training program. Arcina has trained dogs in protection sports such as Mondio & French Ring, Personal and Estate Protection, Dock Diving, Agility and Scent Detection. She currently owns 2 pups; Violet the 4 year old Pit Bull Terrier & Django, 11 month old Belgian Malinois who is currently training for competition in AKC Obedience & French Ring.

Hello!

I wanted to post an update on this page for all of my clients and potential clients. As some of you know, I caught COVID in July which caused some major complications with my pregnancy and I was in/out of the hospital for weeks as my liver enzymes climbed and blood pressure fluctuated. If I was unable to reach out or respond to any of you in during this time, I apologize!

I welcomed my perfectly healthy daughter, Ellie, to my pack on July 30th via C Section and she is currently growing and learning how to eat on her own in the NICU. Thankfully I am also on the mend and looking at resuming lessons and consultations early September.

I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during this time and cannot wait to resume working with you all very soon! In the meantime, I am available via text/phone/email with any questions or support needed. If I am in NICU, I do not have cell service, so may be delayed in my response.

Django, practicing the food refusal exercise used in french ring sport. The idea is that the dog remains in a down and ignores the food being tossed at him. I didn't mean for the food to hit him square between his eyes, but he did a perfect job ignoring it and staying focused. This is also useful for pet dogs, teaching them to leave things alone in case you accidentally drop medicine or chocolate on the ground.

Drake, the handsome 1YO Lab is very rambunctious and used to be the one taking his owners on walks. Here he is working around another dog for the first time since we started training, 4 weeks ago. His owners have done a fantastic job, now they're walking him 👍 Keep up the great work!
