New boots and rose treats. Transforming into a beautiful butterfly. 🦋
Samson is cuddling one of my foster babies like the caring mom he is.
Samson is one of my herd bucks. He’s not feeling the best right now and I’m having to hand feed the baby. So they are marinating in my office together.

Posey & her daughter Ellie have been adopted. 💜💕
16 tinies! Oh my gosh they are stinkin cute. After some snacks and a quiet place in my office they are decompressing into baby nap mode.
Dexter has been adopted and went home today! Mega fluff hamster. 💙
Maple has been adopted! She gets to hang out and play a couple more weeks before she goes home. 🧡🧡🧡
Educational information!
Behind the scenes. I’m sharing what an upper respiratory infection looks like with symptoms. Raspy breathing that sounds labored and ‘thick’ when you put your ear to their side. Nasal discharge that is anything from clear to dark green and it can be thin to sticky and thick. Dirty front paws from trying to clean their face a lot. Some lethargy is normal when they’re working harder to breathe.
Treatment depends on severity, bacterial or viral stains, symptoms and how the bunny is handling the illness.
For these guys we started on subcutaneous antibiotics (appropriate for URI). Physically clearing the nose of excess discharge as needed. Doing nebulizer treatments with medication 1-2 daily to open and clear airways. Adding probiotics and digestive supplements to their food to help immune system and gut stability. Adding apple cider vinegar to their water for gut motility and gut system bacteria balance.
After one breathing treatment there was marked improvement in breathing and open airways.
Both are eating and drinking well.
These things happen and is a common issue. We are happy to help this family and share so you know what to look for in your own bunny. The most important thing is intervention as soon as possible to prevent a more serious illness or other complications.

Abbigale is one of our fosters who came in and gave birth the next day! Sadly only one of her 7 babies made it. That baby is doing amazing thankfully! Abbigale also took in 6 foster kits a few days later from another mom from a family who had an unexpected pregnancy. She is raising all 7 and doing a lovely job.
Some of these babies have a home, any remaining babies and Abbigale will be ready for adoption in about 2 months!
Stay tuned! There’s still a lot to get through before then. 💜

Name: Spencer
Date of Birth: January 20th, 2024
Breed: Lavender Orpington - Purebred
Gender: Male
Spencer is gorgeous and already showing a lot of promise in leading ladies and taking care of them. We've seen him showing the girls some worms and other goodies to eat. So cute! We have seen him diligently being a caretaker and not an a.hole. He is independent but you can hold him if you need to. He loves to watch what we're doing in the chicken yard.

A broody button quail mom. She’s so puffed up it’s adorable. She’s sitting on 12 eggs now. They don’t go broody often so this is such a treat!
I introduced my flock into a natural living environment and have been trying to teach them to nest. It looks to be paying off.
Softest snuggle fluff beans. Oh my gosh. 🥹🥰
Morticia & Wednesday are available for adoption. You will fall in LOVE with them.

Feeding the babies. We added a weight supplement to their feedings to help with weight gain and conditioning. IE healthy digestive tract and gut health building. They’ll be ready for probiotics in about 2 weeks. Process is tedious but necessary. Sadly we lost 1 baby yesterday. It was failing to thrive. There were 3 that were struggling and needed immediate interventions when first placed with us. The other two babies are doing ok. A bit touch and go but I’m hopeful. These things do happen. Especially at such a young age and with every helpful intervention. It’s sad. I do try to stay positive and their mamas are doing great. So we made the right choice to hand rear. The babies have the best chance this way. Thank you to everyone who’s donated!! We’ve raised $100 towards their dad’s neuter! We will be adding more information to our donation page, as there are some items come up that we can really use. Like right now we need more towels and washcloths! We clean ALOT especially with the babies. New or used is ok too.Other items would be Vinegar (white & apple).www.ShadyGroveRabbitry.com #shadygrove #shadygroverabbitry #pnw #foster #nursing #babies #bunny #lionheads
