It’s that time of year again! Local 3571 is doing its annual “Super Bowl Squares for Charity.” We will once again be doing a $50/square board and a $100/square board with 80% being paid out and 20% will be going to St. Baldricks and Project Fire Buddies. Thank you to VP Healy for once again putting this together. Payouts will go like this:

$50 Board- Each quarter winner will get $800 and the reverse score will get $200.

$100 Board- Each quarter winner will get $1600 and the reverse score will get $400.

If, at the end of the 4th quarter, the score is tied then the payouts will go as follows:

$50 Board- 4th quarter wins $500 and the OT final wins $500 with NO reverse winners.

$100 Board- 4th quarter wins $1000 and the OT final wins $1000 with NO reverse winners.

Payments for squares can be made via Zelle, Venmo, or cash.

Fairness is returning to Social Security for millions of retired fire fighters, police officers, teachers, and other public employees.

Over the last 2 weeks members of Local 3571 participated in live burns that focused on tactics for a mid to high rise fire incident. Crews worked on various jobs such as incident command, standpipe ops, search and rescue, rapid assent teams, ventilation, and just how difficult an incident like this can be. We would like to thank the Illinois Fire Service Institute for the instructors who left us with tons of knowledge and all of their hard work. We would also like to thank the Itasca Fire Protection District and Itasca Professional Firefighters Association Local #3461 for hosting this event!

This past weekend Local 3571 held our annual Kids Christmas Party! As you can see from the pictures, everyone had an amazing time. On his way from the North Pole, Santa was able to do some ride time in the Battalion car with Brother Grala. Thank you to Crosstown Exotics for the reptile show, the kids loved it. A HUGE thank you to all those who assisted in making the party memorable.

Thanksgiving night, Local 3571 members responded to one of our hotels for a fire alarm which turned out to be a working fire in one of the rooms. With help from the sprinkler system keeping it in check and the quick actions from our members the damage was held to one room. Thank you to our neighbors who came in on the assist and lent a hand!
