Today marks 6 months since K9 Nala was senselessly and abruptly torn from her home and handler of over two years. This has been a difficult road, with many dreadful turns and twists along the way. We certainly hoped to have this resolved LONG LONG before this point. However, we remain faithful that we are fighting a fight worth while and we are still hopeful that we will successfully where she belongs.

Chris has been in touch with his attorneys, there is movement, the appeal process is moving forward with a pre-hearing meeting scheduled for early August. We want to thank you all for your continued love and support, it is greatly appreciated and it is making a difference. Attorney fees thus far are over $7300 and continuing to climb. So again a huge thank you to every donation, support via purchasing t-shirts, stickers etc.!

On that note, we will be sharing a beautiful handmade quilt in the comments and will share to the page as well. This was thoughtfully and generously made by Kristina Bordelon Pickens and is an approved fundraiser. Emergency case headed straight to Lynchburg Emergancy Vet.

One of our volunteers found this poor little on the side of Hwy 15 near Bluestone Boat Landing. Poor thing appears to have been hit by a car. He is unable to walk at all.

The poor thing has to be terrified and hurting!! Thankful for them for picking him up and transporting to ER .

Urgent plea on Friday for 7 tiny pups that appeared to have been dumped.

They are all very dry wormy but doing well.

So thankfully for volunteers stepping up to foster and to the kind souls that picked these little ones up.

This Handsome Man is Ollie. Ollie is 2 years old. He is up to date on vaccines and Heartworm negative. He dose well with both kids and adults. His two favorite things to do are eat an sunbath! Next in line is going for walks. He will often even give you a little dance when its time to eat dinner. Ollie is looking for his forever home or rescue placement.

🐾 Bruce was a stray who was never reclaimed, while at the shelter, it was discovered that he had a very mild case of heart worms. He has been treated now and is ready for his forever home. 🐾

As winter arrives and temperatures drop, remember that some dogs are bred to be outside in cold weather. Heavy-coated northern dogs like huskies, malamutes, Great Pyrenees, Newfoundlands, and Bernese mountain dogs are bred to stay outside all winter and frequently prefer to be outside even in bitterly cold temperatures – often to their owners’ dismay. If you see a dog with a full coat outside this winter, they are probably perfectly happy. There is no need to call us unless they are visibly shivering.

Our pet food pantry is empty. If you have any food that your pets will not eat we will take it. Our pet food pantry helps keep pets in their homes. Or feeds the community cats. For people needing help we hope to get some donations in soon.
