Thank you to an amazing group of volunteers from Saint Mary's Bank Contact Center Team who joined us today! Volunteers helped break down several large pieces of old office furniture, moved them out, and assembled new desks and chairs. We have exciting plans for these areas including updated staff offices and a new home for our Humane Education Library where children and families can choose books during visits to read to the animals! The group also cleaned up outside and tore down our carport which unfortunately fell apart over the winter. Thank you Saint Mary's Volunteers for lending your muscles and spending your Saturday with us. We loved having you! St. Mary's Bank

Today we are remembering a very special cat called Zuni whose mom generously chose to memorialize him through a sponsorship of our April 5th Shelter Slumber Pawty. Let's learn more about this amazing boy, in words of the person who knew him best:

"I would like to honor the memory of Zuni, the silliest, goofiest, happiest-to-be-alive cat I’ve ever known. He was rescued when he was about six weeks old, after being found collapsed in a puddle in an industrial parking lot. His rescuers managed to save his entire litter, after their mother was hit by a car…they think Zuni was trying to find food and that’s why he had ventured away from his siblings. In addition to having the fluffiest bum and toe-beans known to man, he loved playing fetch with his favorite toy mouse, standing on his head (really – he did this) against a wall to make me laugh, and grunting to get my attention so I’d pet him (he couldn’t meow) – he was just the snuggliest lovebug. I lost him last year at age 15 after an all-too-brief battle with cancer and a heart condition, and I miss him every day."

It's always incredibly meaningful when we receive donations at the ARLNH in memory of a beloved pet. Brody's mom did just that when she sponsored our upcoming Shelter Slumber Pawty in memory of this amazing pup. Join us in learning more about Brody, and his support, in the words of his mom:

"Brody loved the ARLNH Howl-O-Ween 5K every year and he is supporting his friends to find their forever homes. Brody was my soul dog and will live on in my heart forever. He loved his ice cream treats and would dance and hit his snout on the freezer when he wanted one. A gentle soul that loved kids, cats and everyone in general. Brody was a snuggle bug and loyal beyond belief. I am sure he is happy to be able to sponsor the Slumber Pawty for all his fur baby friends that need support. Brody says thank you for everything that you do for the animals!"
