This pup was found in Owensboro Kentucky. We have been in contact with the lady who found him and he has no microchip. but she is going door to door trying to find his owner. It is very obvious that he is someone's pet. So please share if you have facebook friends in the Owensboro area. Lets help get this little guy back home!

April is National Heartworm Awareness Month and we see first hand how these terrible worms can affect dogs not to mention what a painful and long (and expensive) process it is to treat it. Several of our heart-worm positive rescue dogs ended up with enlarged hearts due to these parasites even after treatment. Please talk to your vet and get your pets on heartworm prevention.

We have been approached to take this guy into our group. But as you can see from the photos he isn't a Westie. But Wesley is still so handsome and has terrier in him so we thought maybe someone would be interested or has a friend who maybe. If you want to learn about Mr. Wesley more please message us and we will get in in contact with his rescue. He is currently in Franklin Kentucky.

Happy National Vet Receptionist week to the staff at Wills Animal Hospital that takes care of our rescue dogs. Most of the PCN pups come in with complex medical needs and the receptionists make sure our dogs put on the vet's schedule as soon as possible, follow up visits are set up , their records are entered into the system, medication is refilled, so much more. We appreciate them so much!

Happy National Veterinary Receptionist Week! This week we celebrate the incredible Veterinary Receptionists that make our lives so much easier! Receptionists are typically the first and usually the final point of contact for pet parents in our clinic. They handle answering pet care questions, getting your pet seen, and a host of challenging client interactions! Let’s give our lovely ladies a big round of applause for all of their continued hard work and love for you and your fur babies!

So true. These people that Betty White refers to are why the Preston Cares Network exists. We take care of the ones who don't have people who can take care of them until we find them their forever homes. And we are so honored to be able to do so :-)

Hi I'm Telly! I am the newest Preston Cares Network pup! I just wanted to say thank you so much for your donations to take care of me. I am being a good boy and taking all meds and getting baths every other day for my skin. I LOVE being at my foster home. They have so much food here so I am eating and eating and eating :-) I also like spending time with my foster parents and my foster dog brothers and sisters. It is nice to be loved and safe in a home and not scared on the streets. Right now they are treating my eye, ear, and skin infections. I get baths every other day (and yes I like to sneak past my foster mom and run through the house dripping wet hehe). Next week I go to the vet to get more tests done to see if anything else is going on. My foster mom said if the vet says if it is ok I will get my microchip so if I ever get lost again I can find my way back to Preston Cares. Thanks again everyone for loving me! Preston Cares Network

We have a new dog in rescue! Meet Mr. Telly. He was a stray that was found by a Kentucky animal control. We think he is between 6-8 years old. As your can tell from his photos he came to us in bad shape. He has skin infections, very bad ear infections, and eye infections. We think he has lost some if not all of his eye sight but won't know for sure until we get the eye infections and dry eyes under control. He has a great personality and once we get him back healthy he will make a wonderful pet.

However, this will take months of treatment and ongoing medical bills. Please Help us help him get back to health and to his forever home. You can help by donating the link in this post or with the links we posted in the comments.

Adoption Tails update!

Mr. Max (a Westie Mix) who was adopted this summer to a vet is living the life! His new mom says he is fitting in well and loves coming to work with her at the University of Missouri vet school. He has become like a mascot for their nutrition service. This winter Max will be traveling to Arizona for the holiday and after his mom finishes her residence he will return with her to Canada where he will learn to bark "ah" :-)
