Summer time is in full swing! It’s looking like temperatures will be well into the 90s this week. Be sure your pets have clean cool drinking water and access to somewhere cool to rest. Heatstroke can happen fast. Be on the lookout for symptoms such as:

Also know that Brachycephalic breeds are more susceptible to heat stroke. This includes breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, Boxers, Boston Terriers, and other “squashed face” breeds.

“D-Day was the name given to the June 6, 1944, invasion of the beaches at Normandy in northern France by troops from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and other countries during World War II. France at the time was occupied by the armies of N**i Germany, and the amphibious assault—codenamed Operation Overlord—landed some 156,000 Allied soldiers on the beaches of Normandy by the end of the day.”

Amongst those soldiers were 3 dogs named Ranee, Bing and Glenn. They were trained to parachute on their own and help sniff out bombs, b***y traps, and enemies. They were trained by simply tossing a treat out of the helicopter. It is said that after a few jumps they no longer needed the treats! Unfortunately only one survived. Bing, who went on to be awarded Dicken Medal, the Animals Victoria Cross. When Bing died in 1955 he was buried in a cemetery of honor for animals northeast of London.

Moxie is a new patient who came in to see Dr. Edmonds for his first puppy vaccinations.
Moxie was found on the road and he is in pretty tough shape but now he has a new loving home and we are happy to be taking care of him! ♥️🐶

Garden is coming along good. Harvested beets, some broccoli and cauliflower yesterday. Today, added compost to tomatoes and peppers, cultivated sweet potatoes and pulled weeds. How is your garden doing? Share your garden pics 🌱

It’s that time of year! The sun is out and it’s time to grab your fishing poles. But don’t forget that your canine friends love stink bait as much as fish and cats love shiny lures! We’ve removed two hooks today one from a paw and one from a lip. Be sure your fishing gear is out of reach from your fur babies! 🎣☀️🛶 🐾

Bynum Veterinary Clinic is currently looking to hire a kennel assistant. This will be part time employment. Hours will be 1-5pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 3-7pm Tuesdays.
𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨:
Attention to detail during cleaning tasks.
Ability to lift over 50 pounds alone.
Customer service skills.
𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨:
Cleaning the clinic daily. Sweep and mopping floors, cleaning kennels and livestock facilities, general house keeping, taking out trash, cleaning exam rooms after appointments.

Sharing some of our snow day fun with you! After Bear and Lucy Lu had their dental cleanings today, we shoveled some sleet, creativity hauled some trash out after unpacking our UPS stuff, and Rach cleaned out the laundry room. We all got some spring cleaning done and Doc let us leave a little early today! We will be back in the office tomorrow at 8 am. Stay warm!

Pearl and Sue5 are loving the snow! Our office is open and the coffee is hot. We will close around 3 today, to go take care of our livestock at home. Be safe and enjoy the snow!
